I have to give playcalling credit tonite
I dont know if it was gibbs or saunders but whoever it was props to them,I thought for sure they would run it at the end of the first half and settle for the fg,but they didnt, great call,I think the bears were thinking the same thing. Then in 2nd half,we werent afraid to pass it on 3rd down when it seems like games past we would have run it,especially the last 3rd down that resulted in a td,anyway props to the playcalling tonite

I think it's really attributable to being more comfortable with Collins running the offense. Campbell isn't there yet, however you may never know if he's there unless you let him do what TC did today.
Still, no running game though.

Re: I have to give playcalling credit tonite
I was wondering the same thing about collins, but if your more comfortable with Collins making those throws with no practice that doesnt say much for campbell.Tc will never have Campbells God given talent but he looked like a better qb,now Warpathers dont go crazy on me and say collins sucks,Campbells better, blah blah blah,I'm not saying that Collins is better,he just looked better tonite and if the coaching staff doesnt have the confidence for JC to run the same plays as collins then why is he in there? If Collins gives us a better chance to win then he should be the Qb,but this is all speculation,I dont know what the coaching staff is thinking,I'd love for Campbell to succeed but it looks like his yr is over

Good for Gibbs though - a badly needed reprieve after a tough week and 4 straight losses. I'm actually surprised that we couldn't run the ball on the Bears D - they haven't been able to stop the run this year. |

F... the playcalling I was impressed with the execution, specifically Todd Collins on some of those critical 3rd downs.

Sorry I'm just not a fan of the play calling debates, I think it's very overrated and without execution you can't get creative with the play calls.

Guess what...instead of trying to run the clock out by a non existent run game we decided to actually try to win the game...and we did. We passed on the 3rd down td play to betts!! Good call.

Re: I have to give playcalling credit tonite
it may be too early and not enough game time to tell but collins picked up right where he left off in the pre-season . . . running the nuances of al saunders offense, he knows the system and runs it well.
what really stood out to me last night was the way collins would read the blitz and get rid of the ball to the hot route receiver perfectly. he seems to get rid of the ball quicker and on-time. al saunders passing offense is timing and finding the open areas of the field. collins got the ball out before the reciever was open where as to me it seems JC would hold onto the ball until the receiver is open then throw it costing crucial seconds for routes to be off. go skins, heal up JC, your still our dawg but learn from collins experience buddy! |

i just think better plays were selected last night, cambell is way better then collins- end of discussion, gibbs said in his post game conference that they decided tonight to open the playbook alittle more.

Re: I have to give playcalling credit tonite
That might be because Collins knows the entire play book so they could flip to page 699.
