Turn around point of the season was...
When we beat Chicago on a short week and the main KEY was getting the well deserved 10 day (It was like another bye week) break that virtually re-energized and healed a lot of our key players. Also, replacing Todd Wade with Stephon Heyer has been one of the best moves made. Our running game and protection have done a complete 360 degree due to this and course Todd Collins.

Actually gonna play on the tragedy of ST.
I think his death lit a fire under everyone in the organization and I know this season and the rest of this post-season will be dedicated to him.

Re: Turn around point of the season was...
Of course that was taken into consideration, the team was emotionally and physically exhausted and needed the break. I'm glad they didn't change the game to Sunday.

Re: Turn around point of the season was...
This might be a controversial thing to say, but I don't think we make the playoffs if Sean wasn't murdered.
In fact, I'll go so far as to say that if Sean survives and is in critical condition right now, this team loses most of its last 5 games. Hell, if the media doesn't go so heavy-handed in its "thug" treatment of Sean after the murder, I think that might have affected how this team played. Quote:
As it stands, one man's sacrifice has transformed an entire team, and I think they realize now, the gift they have been given, and the responsibility they have to seize it, and take it as far as they can go with it.

That said, I'd argue that we still wouldn't have made the playoffs after Taylor's passing with Campbell at QB. The turning point of our season was when Collins was forced into the game vs the Bears. |

Campbell getting hurt and Collins coming in. An O that could do nothing is now scoring points and looking like a juggernaut because the team now has a QB that knows how to run the O.

I agree. The minute Collins stepped in, the offense just took off.....starting with that pass to Todd Yoder.

i have to agree with irish.when campell got hurt and collins got in the game.this man knows this offense.maybe some of it has to do with the death of sean but they have something going and lets hope it continues.collins and sanders have been together for 7 years and it shows.

Re: Turn around point of the season was...
after sean taylor's funeral, they seemed like a totally different team.odd as it seems,i think the skins grieved, and still grieve ST on the field and in their hearts.knocking the hell out of the other team on the field just seems to make them feel so much better!!!!

Re: Turn around point of the season was...
Nothing against Campbell, but Collins coming in was the turning point. He's given this team the spark that it needed.

Re: Turn around point of the season was...
I agree. Although, I do think Sean's passing helped to galvanize the team. It is undeniable, however, that the offense gained confidence, dare I say "swagger", under Collins. Now we don't just have a little choo choo that thinks it can. We have one that knows it can. I also think it's no accident that "The D" picked it up and both "The O" and "The D" are now feeding off one another. Now if we can just get "The ST" to open some lanes for ARE we'd be in Hog Heaven. BTW, can anyone define for me athletic intelligence? Ray Brown used it to describe Collins last night and I'm not entirely sure what he was getting at. My guess was that he was making the maximum use of his physical and mental abilities.

Re: Turn around point of the season was...
Shawn Springs' interception right before halftime in the Bears game was the turning point of the season. Still fresh in everyone's memory was the fiasco at the end of the Bills game, the Redskins had scored no points in the first half, and Campbell had just been lost for the rest of the season. The Bears are trying to put up some points before the half, Springs intercepts a pass, brings the ball into Bears territory and helps set up Collins' first TD pass to Yoder right before the half. The rest was history.

Re: Turn around point of the season was...
It's really hard to say....the season been a wild ride with ups and downs. But one thing is a fact with out Joe Gibbs faith in God I really believe this team would have not come back after Sean death the way they have! Yes a lot has been said about the Bills game and the two times out but MrGibbs is a great coach, father and man. But now what he is showing us is what his faith in God can do for himself and those around him! I really don't know how any coach could keep a team together after what has happen this year without the faith that Gibbs is showing us all. No matter what happens from here out it's sure been fun to watch!
