Complications with Zorn? A delay on Ryan?
So much speculation. I know things are at a fever pitch already around here, but it looks like we've got a further delay. Apparently Ryan, still under contract with Balt, will be at the Senior Bowl coaching, and won't be around until the end of the weekend. Plus Balt is very high on keeping Ryan and they'll probably make it very tough to get him. So I guess this has fueled speculation of a possible Jim Schwartz / Gregg Williams swap.
If that isn't enough, apparently Seattle is very intent on keeping Zorn. They may offer him a guaranteed spot as OC when Holmgren steps down after the '08 season. And I guess that could be enough to keep him there. Arrrrgggghhh. This whole situation is annoying as hell. washingtonpost.com - nation, world, technology and Washington area news and headlines Redskins Insider (Mods-If this thread is a strong candidate to merge with "Fassel, Ryan, Zorn, oh my" thread, feel free.)

I don't get CSN where I am, but someone just told me that they said there was a "0%" chance we'd get Zorn...and that Sellers said that not hiring GW would be a setback? Oh man! This is madness!!

How come nobody's interviewing Gregg Williams or Al Saunders? I'm sure both of them are top contenders as HC somewhere else. Is it possible for Dan Snyder to prevent them from being interviewed?

Because #1 they are both under contract here, and #2 they aren't out of the running for positions here just yet.

They will both definately draw interest from other teams once they complete this mess going on with the Redskins. Plus I think Williams is still under contract.

I'm officially just backing off my anxiousness about this whole thing. Now the ESPN article Matty just posted is saying we may wait until after the Super Bowl so we can take a crack Spagnuolo. It could be a while folks. Unfasten your seatbelts and feel free to move about the cabin.

Re: Complications with Zorn? A delay on Ryan?
I thought the mention of a Jim Schwartz / Gregg Williams swap was interesting. Same philosophies and schemes. Plus Fisher and GW are best friends. If Tenn would allow the lateral move without compensation, I could see us going that route to avoid what will no doubt be a big price demanded by Balt for Ryan.

Giants don't have to let him go if it's a lateral move. |

Re: Complications with Zorn? A delay on Ryan?
I thought it was interesting that the article said Zorn was well regarded by not just Fassel, but Williams as well.
