So Now Who Do You Want?
With Williams gone, who do you want (not think should be) to be the next head coach of the Washington Redskins?

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
That's a no-brainer. I'll take the coach with the most experience and a SB ring.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
What he said but if I was HC of a team I would want my own assistants not the ones the owner picked out for me that could limit who wants to come to D.C.

My sentiments exactly. Unless Snyder has his man and is just waiting til after the SB to make the announcemnt a well seasoned HC might not want to come here. Sounds like Snyder is a total control freak!!!!!!! |

Can we stop talking about Bill Cowher for crying out loud. He's not coming here. Jeez!!! I'll take Meeks.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
I was a bit surprised to see him in the poll. But, since we're all in lala land anyway, I went with the best candidate out there, regardless of whether he should or could become the coach.

I decided to put him in there, just because the rumors won't die about him. I was hesitant to put him in there but ultimately went for it.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
Who do I want? None of the above.
Who will it be? The Skins will likely want to interview someone from one or both of the teams playing on Sunday. Based on who they interview, I could be convinced that set of interviews could identify a good hire. However, not every assistant on the Giants/Pats is a good candidate to be a HC somewhere else. With regard to the theories proposed that all of this is a temporizing move just waiting until 2009 when Bill Cowher comes in and takes over, the perfect guy to be the one-year caretaker would be Joe Bugel. He has sucked in spades as a head coach, but if all you want is a seat-warmer, Joe's your guy - - and he already knows most of the players... No way he's expecting a long-term deal as a head coach in the NFL ever again.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
Cowher, no way, IMO not a great head coach. I don't want a guy who has been out of the NFL two years. His best days are in the rear view mirror.
Fassel, no. He had a decent run in NY up to the SB year but after that..not so much. His best days are behind him also. Schwartz, 2007 D was solid, but in 2004-06 his defense has been in the bottom four teams in the NFL in scoring D. Spags, not enough on his resume. One decent year as a DC does not a HC make. Meeks is the best on the list, impressive resume, consistent success. Tony Dungy isn't a bad mentor to have either. I've said this in at least 5 or 6 other posts, we should take a look at Ron Rivera from San Diego for HC or DC under Meeks (if they can work together). Blanche is very solid, but not a young man. Meeks, Rivera and Zorn would be a pretty solid top of the coaching staff for as long as Snyder can afford to pay them....and we all know that's not an issue.

By no means were GW & Saunders without flaws, there was many a week those two were getting hammered right here. If Snyder and Cerrato want to go another direction and they are hiring talented coaches, let's give it a chance. The players sure will, they're well paid and under contract.
