What About Andre Dyson
Hey , I think this guy could help us. He was a starter for a longtime, before he got hurt last year. He is only 28, and may be able to help us, until Rogers is ready.

Re: What About Andre Dyson
Whats with the veteran minimum? Why would a 28 year old player thats been relatively productive over the past few years, settle for the veteran minimum in a market thats willing to overpay him? If he's around 35 years old, or we've won 3 out of the last 4 Super Bowls, then the veteran minimum becomes more of an option.
Either way I like Drayton Florence better. Also thank you for capitalizing the thread title, not to mention staying away from using numbers as shorthand words. Basically thanks for not using: "i want 2 sign andre dyson!" or better yet "I WANT 2 SIGN ANDRE DYSON IS THAT OK?"

Re: What About Andre Dyson
I think we should just look at drafting a CB in the draft cus I say the draft is pretty deep with some decent cbs...
I think we should pick up a WR in the FA.. cus it always takes longer for a WR to make an impact.. (like a 3 year period) and we dont have that time |

Re: What About Andre Dyson
I think Drayton Florence's price tag is going to be pretty high. I'm not sure we'll be able to swing it. He's the #2 CB on the market.
A lot of us on the board wanted Dyson before the Jets signed him. The knock on him though was that he wasn't a physical as Gregg Williams liked his corners to be. I thought that's fine as long as he's a playmaker. Also, Fred Smoot wasn't a sure tackler before his return to FedEx field, but he made a lot of good tackles last year. He really improved in that department. The CB depth is looking good for the draft, but some of the guys that looked like they could fall to the second round for us are having a good combine and may make it to the 1st now. (i.e. Brandon Flowers) |

Re: What About Andre Dyson
Drayton Florence isnt better than smoot.. i don't see the point in us paying the money he will want... and he's DEF not better than a healthy rogers or springs..

Re: What About Andre Dyson
he's not vet min, but he's cheap, and he's better than florence by quite a bit. the injury helps lower his value, and hopefully 2$mill per is enough for him. it'd be a good move if he's healthy.
I really wanted to sign him instead of drafting rogers a few years ago (the price tag was about the same), so we could draft someone else (like merriman :P) |
