Winfield is asking for a ludicrous signing bonus.

Springs is only 28? Thought he was older than that for some reason.

So did I , he has been around a little while. Oh well, we dont need to spend the money Winfeild is asking for, even though I like him alot. Springs should do just a fine job filling in for champ.

Think of it this way: Id rather replace Champ with Shawn than Portis with Quentic Griffin.

Can Pastabelly write a skins story without starting it with an insult?
Quote: "so much for the contentions from some Redskins officials that the spendthrift franchise would exercise a degree of restraint on the opening day of free agency." Who exactly said they weren't going to spend? Even mild-mannered Joe Gibbs has been quoted as saying that the skins are going to be aggressive this year, and there are articles about how Gibbs and Snyder are on the same page about getting the best FAs, etc. He just made this sh** up. These are both good signings. Springs has the talent. Griffin is young and quick and strong. We need d-line and a cover CB. We're on our way!

Speaking of size, it seems like the vast majority of cornerbacks in the league are under six feet tall, yet when scouts judge corner talent, inevitably you will hear how they are "a bit undersized." One wonders why, when linebackers, offensive and defensive linemen, and wideouts are getting bigger and bigger, cornerbacks always seem to measure up well smaller than their opponents. Just curious why you rarely see corners over 6'1". |
