Talking The 7 Most Retarded Ways Celebrities Have Tried to Go Green

The 7 Most Retarded Ways Celebrities Have Tried to Go Green

With the threat of global warming looming, it's more important than ever that all of us appear to care about the environment.

Maybe no one works harder on this than celebrities, who make it a point to show up in the papers every now and then with their latest eco-friendly gesture. We would applaud them for this, if it wasn't for the fact that the gestures are often mind-blowingly retarded.

The general theme seems to be:

Fly around in a private jet;

Lecture others about awareness and feel smug;

Plant lots of trees.

I just get a laugh at these people who think they are just so smart and we should listen to what they have to say about how to live our life. When they open their mouth we then see that they are not any smarter than the average person and are just blessed to have a talent because otherwise they would just be the average working Joe.

That's pretty damn funny.

I'm getting pretty tired of the hypocrisy, as well. They are challenging people to "think differently" to be more eco-friendly, but they, themselves, refuse to do so.

The sad part is, the message is good. We all need to do our part to try to conserve natural resources. There are folks that are hypocrites, but there are other celebrities that practice what they preach. I saw a special on Ed Begley Jr. (I was hung over and too lazy to pick up the remote to change the channel, came on Sunday Morning.) He uses rain water barrels, uses solar panels to partially power his home, walks and bikes to most evens in LA.

While you may not agree with everything someone does, most of those celebrities do more than the average Joe. As a country we burn natural resources like mad and need to cut down.

Really? I am not even 30 and I know who he is. Actor from St.Elsewhere a big time drama back in the 80's. He's been in a lot of other things but that's his biggie.

I didn't know him either.

Of course, that probably makes me more likely to take him seriously! If a celebrity I know starts spouting off about anything political, I immediately dismiss them.

As far as I am know he isn't an ass about it. He really is very environmentally aware and totally lives by it. He doesn't just talk about it and then jump on his personal jet. I do think he is a little crunchy granola though.

Ok, maybe he does live by what he preaches but he also is selling allot of stuff on his site to make money off what he say's. So is he doing this just to rake in more money or because he really believes what he is saying. I did not see on his site if he donates the proceeds but I did find out for only $95.00 a year I could offset my car's carbon foot print.
