JOHN McCAIN vs BARAK OBAMA Favors new drilling offshore US McCain Yes Obama No Will appoint judges who interpret the law not make it McCain Yes Obama No Served in the US Armed Forces McCain Yes Obama No Amount of time served in the US Senate McCain 22 YEARS Obama 173 DAYS Will institute a socialized national health care plan McCain No Obama Yes Supports abortion throughout the pregnancy McCain No Obama Yes Would pull troops out of Iraq immediately McCain No Obama Yes Supports gun ownership rights McCain Yes Obama No Supports homosexual marriage McCain No Obama Yes Proposed programs will mean a huge tax increase McCain No Obama Yes Voted against making English the official language McCain No Obama Yes Voted to give Social Security benefits to illegals McCain No Obama Yes CAPITAL GAINS TAX MCCAIN 0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax. OBAMA 28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.) DIVIDEND TAX MCCAIN 15% (no change) OBAMA 39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.') You can verify the above at the following web sites: http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/election/2008/index.html http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/issues/issues.taxes.html http://elections.foxnews.com/?s=proposed+taxes http://bulletin.aarp.org/yourworld/politics/articles/mccain_obama_offer_different_visions_on_taxes.html http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/candidates/barack_obama/ http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/candidates/john_mccain/ I received this via email.. You guys are unbelievable. Once again you lost me at "Will appoint judges who interpret the law not make it. " Verbicide is uncool.
In the future, please, I beg of you, actually verify the b.s. you post because none of the links given support your tax claims.

For the love of God, stop believing everything that comes in your email! The reason they do this garbage is because they know most Americans are too lazy to do their own research. (Obviously).
Get your shit straight. Barack Obama on the Issues and I'll even post the McCain one. John McCain on the Issues

While some things in that document are true, I think overall the first clue that you should take the email with a grain of salt and not rely on it is that they don't spell Barack correctly. How reliable a source can you be if you can't take the time to correctly spell a candidate's name?

Looks good to me, I see no problems here.....J/K.
In hess' defense, she's asking for opinions on this, not stating it to be true. SS's take is spot on.

Re: 2008 Pres Candidate Talking Points
Have you ever gone to school one day and realized that someone else was wearing the same exact thing that you were? You spend the rest of the day trying to hide and or avoid everyone you know hoping that no one else notices. Of course you get ratted out by your best friend and you feel awkward because now everyone is pointing and laughing. Yeah.............................

Who said anything about believing the email? I received mine from my mother. Heaven forbid that I trust the woman who gave birth to my ass. I thought that she was more intelligent than to just send something without checking it out first. I guess I the apple did not fall far from the tree because I turned around and did the same thing. I was only trying to provide some insight and possibly some useful information to the users of this sight. My mistake was not researching the information first. My apologies to the Warpath for my negligence and oversight. I will make a better effort to provide only reliable information from now on. That does not mean that I will stop posting my opinion however. Sorry Guys. Hey Matty, could you post that add please? JK |
