Like His Offense, Zorn Has No Problem Opening Up

I don't know about you guys, but I just want Zorn to succeed. He seems like he has that potential to be a very good coach for a long time, at least that's just the sense I get, I could be totally wrong. We'll see how things play out.

How can you not root for a guy who calls ARE a schmuck? Zorn is a totally likeable cat, and I think he is going to do big things for us over the years if he gets the chance. I especially like that he has adated already to his team, rather then making the team totally adapt to him!

He said he's not a schmuck. Does that make him not likable now?

Just using schmuck in an NFL press conference makes him likable.

Seriously, Zorn shows great personality and IMO uncanny tact in terms of calling players out but not cold-shouldering them. Seeing Lloyd have a bit of success in Chicago (he still sucks ass) makes me wonder how he would have responded to Zorn's style.

I like what he brings to the table. Not to take anything away from Joe Gibbs, who brought us three superbowl trophies and i have the utmost respect for, but going for the 4th down at the end to ice the game was something i just dont think gibbs would have done in a million years. I like having an agressive offense mindset instead of the ultra conservative mindset that we saw under gibbs II.

True, and the article makes the same point, but we shouldn't forget that Zorn didn't go for it on 4th down in a couple of situations in the first half in which he had that option. Not that I disagree with his decision, I just think we should avoid be hasty by terming him "aggressive."

he seems like a very likable man.he's smart as a tack too.i can't see any other coach in the league that dreams up fundamentals drills like he does.that thing throwing the bags at the qbs was sheer genius.he's a great teacher, lets just hope the students want to learn as bad as he does teach.i'm wondering what took so long in giving him a job as head coach?i'm wondering how the highest position he ever had as an nfl coach before this was qbs coach?

I REALLY believe Jim Zorn is going to do GREAT things in DC (courtesy of Landryslice). I love what he is doing with the team. His press conferences are wack!! he tells the truth!! He lets some of the genuine emotion come through. Great
The team appears to like and respond to him
I think his offense will improvise, adapt and overcome

Totally agree. He's innovative, high energy, smart. He seems to be an honest, down to earth type guy who does'nt pull any punches, and plays who he thinks is best for the job, salary be damned. (Jansen) He does'nt overreact, yet makes his point. I love the guy and actually feel very good about having him as our coach. Good job by the F.O.

To me he just comes off as a guy who is going to have success as a headcoach. Sometimes it takes a while (a la Belichek) but it will happen. I just hope it can all come together for him for us. I can see why Danny and Vinny were som impressed by the guy.

He DOES make you believe in him. I can see how in interviewers were taken with the same things we see.

yup right there with the rest of you. zorn really seems to identify things we can improve on, big and small, then actually adjust and address those areas properly. his press conferences are awesome, really lets you into his insight (sometimes too much, i think he is giving out too much of his thought process for the rest of the nfl to consider).

against the giants i didnt understand our clock management at the end of the game but then when he laid out what he was thinking in the press conf it really made sense and was a very forward thinking smart process.

go skins!!

Re: Like His Offense, Zorn Has No Problem Opening Up

I think if anything, Zorn will help to unify the fanbase a little more than Gibbs. I love Joe Gibbs and he will always be Mr. Redskins to me. Very respectable guy. But some of the younger fans and negative nellys never really accepted Gibbs old school style. I think Jim Zorn brings a fresh look to this team, but one that is well organized.
