Re: Redskins Add New Punter
Well he should be far more consistent than Brooks.
Years ago we were the Washington Jetskins, now we're turing into the Washington Redhawks |

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
Waste of a draft pick, Please. We've seen in the past 3rd and 4th rounders not make the roster or stay around for a year. They took a chance on what was suppose to be the best punter talent in the draft and it hasn't worked out so far.

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
Exactly! Its not the end of the world when a 6th round draft pick doesn't work out.

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
I have to disagree. Brooks most likely would've went undrafted and I thought he could've been had as an UDFA instead of spending a 6th rounder on him. If memory serves me right Brooks was the only punter drafted this year.

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
This guy is a horse compared to Brooks. 6'3" 252Lbs and also a Ray Guy award winner in 2005. We'll see.

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
So you don't consider it a waste when the PUNTER we drafted doesn't make it half way through the season?
Hell, it was a waste to draft him, let alone draft and cut him. You don't agree? |

Was it waste? Maybe.....but we hear about 6th rounders getting cut all the time. When the Broncos spent a 3rd round pick on Maurice Clarett.....thats what you call a waste. |

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
Are we putting Brooks on IR or outright releasing him?

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
Well if read correctlywe signed this new guy to a two year deal so I think that means the door for Brooks. I think there is more to this story then just Brooks performance on the field. didn't he smart off to Shushis (I can't get his name right) maybe he has rubbed others wrong.

Re: Redskins Add New Punter
JESUS! What a WASTE of a 6th rounder!!!!!
OMG THEY SHOULD FIRE VINNY!!!! Just joking (actually not about the firing Vinny part ) - to be honest this was a risk they took and it didn't pan out. The draft is all about risk - I'm sure this kid had a huge leg when they looked at him on the practice field but it sometimes just doesn't translate. Thankfully, a 6th round pick is more or less worthless and it seems like they picked up a comparable talent off the street. |
