3) Dungy
4) Whisenhunt

6) Del Rio
7) Zorn
8) Reid
9) Gruden
10) Sparano/Coughlin/Mike Smith

Posted this just before I went to look at Whitlock's list.

He said that Campbell "was headed to be a draft bust", so obviously, he's not enough of a Skins fan to watch any tape or look at Jason Campbell's statisics.

Zorn is obviously too high, and the fact that John Fox is anywhere near this list, much less the top three, throws the whole thing right into the crapper.

That makes no sense. I love zorn but hes coached 9 games. Several of those coaches have won superbowls.

My worst coaches list (Tom Cable is spared, and Mike Singletary and Jim Haslett are ineligible)

1) Crennel
2) Phillips
3) Childress
4) Jauron
5) Fox
6) Marinelli
7) Marvin Lewis
8) Norv
9) Herm
10) Holmgren

I don't really understand Holmgren on your list. The guy won a super bowl with the Pack and made the Seahawks a contender for the last 5 or 6 years.

Holmgren's fine, but I needed a #10, and the Seahawks are probably seeing some diminishing returns in coaching...whatever effect that might be.

Also, injuries. But Holmgren's decision to retire at the end of the year isn't helping.

I'd have to agree with you if you're saying the Seahawks pathetic team this year has to do with Holmgren calling it quits at the end of the season. I still think he's been a solid coach for a long time, however.

Wade Phillips is not a good NFL head coach. I'd put him in the bottom 10. Holmgren is a top NFL coach hands down. His record speaks for itself.

Re: Whitlock named Zorn the best coach in NFL

As much as I like seeing Zorn in there, I have to cough at #1; and the fact that Sparano isn't even listed takes any validation of this list out.

Re: Whitlock named Zorn the best coach in NFL

Meh i wouldnt start putting Zorn in the convo of best coach, or in the top ten for that matter. Yet, if he is able to keep up the success this year and takes to the playoff AND make a deep run in the playoffs,.....then i would probaly rumor about maybe top ten. I need to see Zorn two or so more years in D.C before i make my verdict. But i will deffiently say he's been a surprise coach this year

Re: Whitlock named Zorn the best coach in NFL

I hate to be the guy to piss on the parade, ok maybe I enjoy it, but Jason Whitlock is borderline insane. Case in point, he was rooting for the Patriots to sign Jeff George. In 2008.

I loved seeing Zorn on top of the list, but this is like being Louis Farrakhan's favorite breakfast cereal. Sorry, my anaology bone is broken...

Gtripp: I can't say I agree with your lists. How the hell is Payton on your list. The guy had one good season in New Orleans and he's done nothing since. There's also no way I'd say John Fox is one of the worst in the league. Same with Jauron.
