Re: P90x
I have it, still in the nice DVD box.
It looks good. Particularly from the couch. This is my next fitness phase: Home Ah, the wonders of living in East LA! Last edited by RedskinRat; 12-05-2008 at 01:21 PM. Reason: Just a thought... |

Re: P90x
I'd give it a shot if anyone would give it a legit review... I've heard about it from the gym rats at work that are going to try it, but I don't think any of them have ordered it yet.

Re: P90x
Does this thing require weights? It says it is a home program but then there are pictures of people lifting huge weights on the website.

Re: P90x
Just thought I'd bump this since 2 days ago I started the Power 90 program. It's basically the Jr. version of the P90x. It's still kickin' my butt though. I thought I was in good shape to begin with but I'm walking around today like an old man, lol.
I definitely recommend it if you want to tone up, I plan on moving up to the P90x once I get through the Power 90. Anyone try else try these programs? They seem to be pretty popular now. |

Re: P90x
I have started not finished P90x, I am thinking of revisiting this summer. you need to be in at least decent shape to pull it off. This not a program for the fatty ass that is just starting to want to lose weight.
Personally I have never had a effective home workout program in my life. Too many distractions at home when you are trying to do the routine. Once I am in the gym my mind is focused on working out. Also I don't have a random dozen hot chicks working out along side me like at the gym.

I've found myself getting bored with the gym. Plus on these cold nights I often find it hard to get motivated to go out. I just wanted to try something new, plus I like the challenge. |

I borrowed it from a friend I did it like a week and was like I miss the gym but I know folks that have used it and had amazing results. Like I said I may give it another shot. Look it up on you tube and you can see folks using the program. Right now I am focused on the gym and the one hundred push up challenge. one hundred push ups If you are looking for a new routine try Body for Life. I have had great results with that, also I don't go at night anymore I am more energized in the morning and if you read body for life you will learn if you exercise, cardo, in the morning your body is forced to use your stored calories (fat). You actually wait an hour after your workout before eating breakfast.

Re: P90x
Ha that's funny, I was doing the 100 pushup challenge right before I started this. I was on week 3 and already doing 81 pushups, so it definitely works.

Re: P90x
Me a guy at work and my brother in law are doing it. I am off track do to the 100 feet of snow we got and the amount of shoveling I was doing.
I think if I did a exhaustion test right now I score 55 or 60. I really just don't have a strong chest, there are a lot genetics involved with having a strong chest. I think on my best day I can maybe bench 150-175 but I will see the tiniest guys come in and throw up 200 225. Weird. I have never really trained to be extremely strong just to stay fit. I just want to be able to take my shirt off in public and keep up with my two year old without losing my breath. I like to see GMScud take on PX90, he is a gym rat.

I'm not a big fan of it but I realized to hit my total (big 3 lifts, squat.. dead.. bench) my bench would be the easiest to improve, back when I was powerlifting I went from 315 to 345 just by studying the form and practicing it within a week I'd be lucky to bench 225 now, my old warmup :-/ |

My best workout since my surgery was last week, shoveling snow. It was a nice test for my arm. It was sore but it didn't snap again, so that's a plus.
