Campbell's "shocking" statement and the offseason
Just (re)watching videos from Redskins.com I realized I forgot about Jason's statement from the 12/29 presser (not quite two minutes in) where he says the following about personnel changes:
"...but, you know, I'm pretty sure this offseason there are going to be some dramatic changes, you know, some may be shocking. So, you know, we all got to be prepared for it." First of all I'm curious what everybody would consider a "shocking" change? Personally the only thing that would truly shock me is trading Portis (I highly doubt Campbell is saying that). Secondly, when should we expect to see changes to personnel aside from the draft?

I would guess he would consider trading Moss to be shocking.

I wouldn't read to deep here. Trading Rogers would be shocking to Campbell even if it wasn't shocking to the rest of the world.

Being old teammates at Auburn together I guess that would be shocking to him. But Carlos didn't play nearly as bad as Smoot this season. I think he and D. Hall would make a pretty damn good tandem.

It may have been just emotion after a TERRIBLE 8 game slide (2-6) Unless he thinks he will be gone, but that's not going to happen.

And don't be "shocked" if we trade Portis, he is almost 28 and you can find solid RB's in the draft... (Kno'Shawn Moreno) Guys like that... I love portis but it's not like he puts up HUGE numbers every season, he can be replaced.

Re: Campbell's "shocking" statement and the offseason
I would expect an NFL player like JC wouldn't be shocked by anything. Well, I guess losing the starting job would be shocking to him....Skins drafting a QB would also be shocking.
The only thing that would be remotely close to shocking is loosing Cooley or Portis.

Trade Portis and Moss and try to get TJ from Cincy.

Re: Campbell's "shocking" statement and the offseason
And how is TJ any more effective than Moss when there isn't anyone that scares opposing defenses at the other WR spot? Cincy has 2 legit speed demons (Chad Johnson & Chris Henry) that stretch the field and make TJ's role as a posession receiver much, much easier. I definitely don't see TJ as a #1 receiver. He would be a downgrade from Moss in that role.

...being that we're handcuffed to him like Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler Bulletproof-style, we're moving him anytime soon. Also I hear that Dan Snyder has a close relationship with him. BTW, I like Portis and don't want to see him go. I wouldn't mind a change-up back though in the draft. IMO Portis has trained to develop a running style that would make his career last despite his OL. If you notice he doesn't do any juking right before contact like he used to in '04. I think he has his longevity in mind, which I don't fault him for.

Re: Campbell's "shocking" statement and the offseason
I understand what everyone is saying, but Portis is just about as bad as T.O. in the "chemistry" department!
