Re: Jason Taylor Released

I'm all for keeping Daniels, but I wonder if this is so they can sign a RT and go LB in the draft?

Re: Jason Taylor Released

Maybe they'll sign Crowell, Willis or Smith? Here's a guy that sounds good but would cost a 2nd round pick:

Harvey Dahl: Falcons have placed a second-round tender on this restricted free agent guard/tackle, but he could be worth it. He is a big, nasty player who was very responsible for Michael Turner's big season.

Harvey Dahl

Re: Jason Taylor Released

As unproductive as he was for us, I don't think this is a good move. Jason Taylor was hurt all year and playing on the wrong side of the line. I think if we gave him another shot and put him on the proper side we would have seen more production. I understand that 8.5 million is a lot to pay a guy who only had 3.5 sacks. However, we are now SUPER thin at DE. Do we sign someone, resign Taylor at a lower price, or draft a new DE?

Maybe we can develop Jackson?? He showed some pass rush ability last year in pre season so maybe he'll take a step up. I'm not saying he should be the starter but maybe bring back Evans, I guess they're bringing back Daniels and keep Jackson in the mix. That's 3 guys that can play that position. No need to bring back Taylor at 8.5 mil.

amen! i was expecting taylor to have a big year this year! it would be his 2nd year in the defense and last years injury was a freak one that most likely wouldnt happen again.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I cant see why we would cut him now unless we are in the process of signing someone else. there are no FAs out there worth spending a significant amount of money on, so this could mean we're making a trade.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I would have liked to have seen what he can do healthy, esp with AH now clogging up the middle.......but not for 8.5. He is getting older, and those nagging injuries only nag harder when you get old.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I have a bad feeling we may try to sign Housh now or that we may have traded for Boldin, or that we've signed Warner and given him his 12M/year.

Im tremendously happy with the skins moves this past weekend... i should have known it was too good to be true. they must be in the middle of doing something to muck everything up.

I agree that signing Housh would be a bad move. But I can't really hate on the FO if they make a trade for Boldin. Dude is legit.
