Ken Lucas anyone?
Cap move: Panthers cut CB Lucas, save $2.3M
starter in this league. big upgrade over Smoot. wouldn't mind seeing him here. and could probably get fairly cheap. off topic, wonder if he is any realtion to Frank Lucas?

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
Nah, I think that we are set at CB. He is not much of an upgrade over Smoot. Isn't he a cover 2 corner? Even if the price is right, I am not interested n the guy. Besides, he would probably rather start somewhere else.
Edit: After further review he is not a Cover 2 corner, but I still believe that he would want to start somewhere else. |

Anyway, the only way we bring in another corner is if it is for a minimum deal and as a #1 corner, Lucas will make a lot more than the minimum. |

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
They should have signed Leigh Bodden instead.

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I'd definitely bring the guy in. I think he could be a solid contributor to this team. I think he's a huge upgrade over Fred Smoot and it could move Smoot down to a dime corner, which seems like it may be more where he belongs now.

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
He's 30 yrs old. He's too old. We need to get younger. He only had 2 INT. last yr. He would probably want too much money for what little he does. Please DS if you have a heart don't sign him. Look the other way. I'm sure he has a criminal record somewhere.
LOL. Just thought I would throw all the BS stuff out there now so no one else could. Now we can have a serious discussion about him. LOL. |

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I know Warner torched just about everyone last year. i was ust giving the latest example....not breaking down his whole career. I just think we shouldn't spend any on DB's in FA right now.

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I'd be interested in Lucas, but Daven Holly is the best thing on the CB market given the relative health of his knee.

Re: Ken Lucas anyone?
I was wondering this too yesterday, as Tripp recalls I'm a big Daven Holly fan so I'd concur that I'd look at him first, but whether it's Holly or Lucas or someone else I'd imagine we'll bring some veteran DB in at some point this spring/summer.
My inclination though is to say no to Lucas
