a few positives
I know after a heck of a loss like this we are all a little gloomy. I just wanted to share a couple positives from an overall negative game:
-- The Redskins' run defense allowed only 62 yards rushing. In two games, the run defense is averaging just 46 yards per game. -- The Redskins out-gained the Giants in offensive yards by 322 to 277 and had 20 first downs to the Giants 15. -- Wide receiver Laveranues Coles caught nine passes for 100 yards. The fact that we had more yards and first downs really strikes me. This game was handed to us, but we just gave it away (I knoe everyone has been saying this). A final note to remember: Greatness isn't never falling, it's getting backup after you fall

QB play is the big question mark. This offense can gain yards if it is executed properly!

1. Sit Ramsey down. 2. Lay down what the Redskins expect for him to do against Dallas. 3. Under no circumstances are you to call an audible. (Ramsey) 4. No receivers open, the ball doesn't leave your hands. 5. If you don't follow these instructions you will not throw another ball as a Redskin.

[QUOTE=Defensewins]I agree with you except your #4. He should be told, "if no receiver is open throw an incompletion. Do not hold the ball past 5-6 seconds. Do not take a sack. Do not throw a ball into coverage"[/QUOTE
That was my original suggestion. But I tell you if this guy throws another interception to a sorry CB like the Giants had yesterday it might be safer to just fall down!

True. But we will next week. The roids can move the ball.
Also, Daniels went down. Any report of his status?

To win, you have to beat the man in front of you, the scoreboard is just for spectators. The Giants didn't beat us today; we beat ourselves. So don't get too down, because we beat ourselves once now, but I believe our team will work together. People who work together win together, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society. I plan to see a football team with a hell of a lot of heart next week, because these players have seen that battles are won mostly in the hearts of men. I want to see Dallas get rocked and so does everyone in this city and everyone on the Skins. Let's have some faith people!

tiki et al moved it very well on philly, they got some legit players on O, and we gave them plent of time to throw...
also positive, NY was 1/13 on 3rd downs, that's impressive. No one gave up, and indeed, we were in it till the last 2 minutes... morton did well today, and overall ST looked better... also, garner (who had 29 total yards on us) had 99 yards on the seahawks D, so our run D looks legit. |

i agree that the defense has been a bright spot for our team for 2 consecutive weeks now(especially peirce, springs and washington), which I don't remember happening in while, and morton did a good job of finding holes on a couple of his multiple kickoff returns.
the only other positive way I can look at all this is that after dallas's win and the eagles loss tonight, every team in the division will be 1-1. that's pretty pathetic but after todays perfomance by the offense I'm willing to grasp at any silver lining that I can. |

Our inability to effectively throw the football down field allowed the G-Men's D to stack the line & stuff Portis. I know it's only week 2, but if we can not make plays with the passing game & be effective, we are going to punish the running game. Portis is the real deal, but he needs help from the passing game to set it up.
Brunell looked fine until he went down. He was not hurting us to badly, Ramsey on the otherhand, played terrible & that was a big reason we were not able to comeback. The G-Men handed us the game in the entire second half, but we never got rolling & they just played not to loss & thus afforded them the victory The Skins need to bouce back next week & played smart football.
