Horton hears a Huff?
Looks like some first round talent may be available. I'd like to get him in our secondary. Could he be a case of the losing culture in Oakland? Maybe someone should ask DeAngelo? Anyways this could be worth watching. Personally i believe this could be an upgrade but thats just my own opinion. Who knows why he was benched. If his talent can be harvested though...

Re: Horton hears a Huff?
2006 Season
After immediately being named the starter in his rookie year, he recorded 78 tackles. On October 22, 2006, in a game against the Arizona Cardinals, Huff recorded 4 solo tackles and his first safety. He started all 16 games in his rookie season. 2007 Season His first forced fumble came in his second year in a match up against the Houston Texans on November 11, 2007. His first interception came in a game against rivalry team Kansas City Chiefs, which set up kicker Sebastian Janikowski for the field goal, which lead to a victory 20-17. Huff ended the game with an impressive performance, adding in 9 total tackles (7 solo, 2 assists). The following week, against another rivalry team, the Denver Broncos, Huff sacked Broncos Quarterback Jay Cutler. Huff finished his 2007 season with 85 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception. Huff was moved to free safety after the acquisition of Gibril Wilson. [1] 2008 Season After recording just 12 tackles through the first 5 games of the 2008 season, Michael Huff was benched in favor of Hiram Eugene. |

Re: Horton hears a Huff?
Other than Derrick Burgess, Asoumgha & the linebacker I can't think of his name who has actually had success in Oakland's defensive scheme since the Super Bowl appearance?

Re: Horton hears a Huff?
I don't know about Huff. I'm not sure why his recent play has been poor- is it him or Oakland? Also, we might be better off letting Horton develop. I also wonder what the price tag will be.

Re: Horton hears a Huff?
I think Huff would be a huge risk in the wrong direction. If he was released and we signed him for the vet min I'd be cool with that, but there's no way I'm trading for him. He's wildly inconsistent, and I don't think you can blame his mediocre play on Oakland like you can with Moss or Hall. I think he's an average FS who was over-hyped coming out of college.

Re: Horton hears a Huff?
I believe that linebacker your talking about is Thomas Howard who has led the league in ints among OLBs; he's the real raider we should get not huff

We had our chance to get Thomas Howard but we decided to choose McIntosh instead...I was scratching my head then, and I'm scratching my head now

Re: Horton hears a Huff?
I automatically thought of Aubrey Huff from the Orioles and was perplexed how this bum had something to do with Horton.

Re: Horton hears a Huff?
Aburey Huff a bum? He led the AL in extra base hits last year, hit .304 with 32 homers and 108 RBIs, and is on pace for a similar season so far this year. Pretty damn far from being a bum. As for Huff from the Raiders, I say let Moore and Horton develop, and we've got Landry.

Charles Woodson was regarded as a "bum" in Oakland now look at him.
