Frank Herzog: The Redskins are just bad

"We owe Steve Spurrier a partial apology. The things they did to you, they're doing to Joe Gibbs"

Just said this on WUSA TV 9 (DC affiliate for CBS)

Steve Spurrier was able to lose and spend quite a bit less money doing it.

Hell, we woulda gone to the playoffs last year if we had Greg Williams only. No less BUgel.

HAh...at least wait til the end of the season until you try to compare Spurrier to Gibbs.

I think Spurrier has some great qualities, but I don't think that Williams would have made the difference. I think the team would have still been mediocre. Just look at the player's attitudes last year. I think in order to win people have to have winning attitudes.

We don't owe Spurrier anything. He was paid $10M for 12 wins, sorry if I don't feel bad for the man.

I agree with Matty. Although I will root for Spurrier if he goes back to college, cause I overall like the guy, I dont think we owe him anything.

Herzog like Wilbon is caught up in the instant gratification mode of the media and their own desire to see him succeed like Parcells and Vermeil. Fortunately, Gibbs doesn't care much of what is written about him. He's more concerned about what is said about his team and that to him is personal. He defended Brunell under harsh criticism. He will take responsibility for his own mistakes and use that energy to solve the team's problems. I'm a little surprised at Herzog but I know his feelings about this team and the desire to see it compete like it is capable of competing. No one expects anything right now from this team and that's a good thing. This team is no different than Gibb's first tenure with the team. Now watch him create a masterpiece by the six week.

I agree, Winskins. How many games did we lose on a defensive collapse at the end of the game?

I'm confused Daseal. First you said we would have made the playoffs if we had Gregg Williams. Then Winskins said he doesn't think Williams would have made a difference, then you say you agree with Winskins

I agree. I think at first, I would have understood if they took Spurrier over Marty, but our team was obviously headed in the right direction at the end of Martys run, it was just like Gibbs first year so I hear, 0-5 , finish 8-8.
