Re: RedSkins QB's
Why don't the mods have that thing where before you can make your own threads, you have the post 100 replies first?
That was such a good idea. Looks like it needs to be reinstated

Re: RedSkins QB's
I am trying to figure that out myself. I absolutely hated Jay Shroeder when I was younger. Could't stand him. But as someone stated earlier. It was more about Gibbs than the QBs. I think that is what Zorn needs to learn. Gibbs was a motivator and also knew how to use his players and make game plans for his personnel and also he made good half time adjustments. Anyways. Can someone kill this thread. I think we all have access to YouTube Post = Fail

Umm. Do you remember the strike year? Okay then..He may have had some good players. But Gibbs was known to make his players better. His players didn't make him. He put them in positions where they could succeed. I guess no other players in the NFL during that era on other teams wanted to win either.. We have talented players now. Are we winning? Are you a Gibbs hater? One of those people not thankful for him bringing us 3 superbowls just because his second coming fell short. If so I dont repsect you as a Redskins fan. Maybe you should cheer for the Lions since you are in Detroit. This isn't about all the players. The title is Redskins QB's. The ones under Gibbs weren't that great. They were good. Gibbs is in the hall of fame. Besides Theisman. The rest were good but not great (under Gibbs). But they maintained the game and played hard. Occasionally having great games. Which is no knock on them at all. But to say it was all about the players and not Gibbs is suspect

Re: RedSkins QB's
There is a point and it does hurt you . Campbell could not even be near these QB's. I forgot to put Joe in there but did not want to hurt all Campbell fan's.
Are you even a Redskin's fan? How can you be and think Campbell will take you to the Superbowl? Not even a playoff game. |

- Rypien spent the 1986 and 1987 seasons on injured reserve, so really he was in his 6th season playing when they won the Super Bowl (and of course, that was a great team all around) - Doug Williams started less than a full season for the Redskins during his time here and had a losing record with us. But he had the magic touch for one month in 1988. (He was 2-0 during the regular season as the "relief QB") - Joe Theismann spent I believe 4 years as the punt returner/backup QB and then another 4 until he got the Redskins to the Super Bowl (not to mention all the years he spent in the CFL prior to all that) So why can't Campbell ever accomplish what any of those guys did?

Re: RedSkins QB's
Ok, I will defend him sorta. Look nothing like remembering the great moments in Skins history. I imagine he was trying to compare/contrast to JC, but really all it shows is that we have won it all with many a qb. I LOVE THE SKINS & THEIR SB WINS!!
