that'd be great. I was playing 2K5 just now and I had some crazy things happen as well. Brunell 8/8 179 yards in the first half! Rasby 90 yard TD reception. Griffin 3 sacks, Smoot 2 sacks, 2 INTs.
Clearly the problem is that aehs77 and I aren't on the sidelines with the rest of the coaching staff

Why is it that almost every pick gets returned for a TD? I run back easily half the picks I get in 2004.

I always use one more DB than the offense has WRs. Thus, when the offense brings out 2 WRs, I go nickel; 3 WRs, I go dime; 4 WRs, I go quarter. That allows me to always blitz a defensive back, while still having enough defensive backs in coverage to account for all of the receiving options. This strategy works well against the run much of the time as well.
In obvious passing situations (3rd and long), I'll go dime or quarter and blitz based on the number of receivers. If I'm lucky enough to have the offense bring out only 2 WRs, I'll blitz at least 2 DBs, and the offense rarely gets off the pass, and if they do, there's usually interception, because the ball is poorly thrown. It's a simple concept, but it always seems to work. |
