Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids
I mean besides being at the Skins' next SB Game.
I was watching Monday Night Football and just enjoying the whole Brady/Manning competition when it occurred to me that these two players have created a real legacy that 20-30 years from now will be part of sports mythology and I am getting the opportunity to watch it as it happens. I am sure there will come a day when I tell my kid "Yeah, they're good but you should've seen Brady/Manning - now that was a rivalrly." I am just wondering what sports mythos others have witnessed or what part of the current sports you watch will become part of sports mythology?

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids
seems like we have had our share. Jordan, Bird and Magic. Tiger Woods. Joe Montana, Walter Payton, Jerry Rice. the steroid in baseball scandal. McGwire vs. Sosa. Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Ray Bourque

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids
Not to knock Manning and brady but with today's rules i dont hold them in as high of a regard as i do Marino,Montana,Moon and Elway. These guys had to fit their passes into small windows as their wrs were being all but undressed in the secondaries. Back then as a wr going across the middle you knew you were gonna get drilled, this 5 yd BS away from the play makes me sick. 3rd and 17 and you get a 1st because the defender touched the wr on the opposite side of the field of where the QB was looking. AAHHH!! sorry for the rant.

I have a kid and she hates sports, so nothing I guess. But she's well aware of me being a Skins fan.

My son asked me last night why I had a baby picture of him in Redskin gear. Oh how badly I have failed

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids
its ok, it happens. My son likes the LSU Tigers and i am a die hard Gator fan. But my Daughter who is 6 came up to me and asked if she could have a Gator cake for her bday party. I almost dripped a few.

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids
Nice thread. Lots of good moments to choose from. I'd probably tell my kids about some Tiger moments, the 2008 Nadal vs. Federer Wimbledon Final...wait are we talking moments or rivalries?

Quote:
I remember those Bird/Magic games. Man they were epic. Did you know that Bird never missed a shot and that Magic could pass the ball without even touching it? No one could guard either of them and, in game 7 of the 1984 NBA Finals, they collided in mid court and Michael Jordan sprang up from the ground where they hit.

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids
Tiger. Plain and simple he is the one that someday we'll be saying..."Man you wouldn't believe how good this guy was." It goes basically Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods. Everyone else is just garnish.
