Better kickers available?

As a moderator, I know right now I shouldnt make a dumb thread like this, but I honestly hate Shaun Suisham that much. I have absolutley loathed this guy since he missed the kick against Seattle in 2007 in the playoffs, and even when he started this season perfect, I knew he was gonna screw us as soon as there was pressure on... and look at it, its December, his kickoffs are only going ot the ten yard line and the he misses big kicks for us... is there ANYONE better out there?

I saw Daseal kick once. He couldn't get it much more than about 10' in the air and didn't have much distance at all, but he's worth a look.

To me it doesn't even matter if there's anyone better. The season is over, right now you cut his ass out of pure spite for costing us one of the biggest wins we could have had all season. Just sign anyone you can right away and really address the problem in the off season. He doesn't deserve to be a redskin.

Um yeah, dumb thread. As much as I want to grill him for the miss, cutting him would be beyond dumb.

Would it really though? I mean seriously, this guy misses big kick after big kick for us. He made two overtime kicks against Miami and New York in 2007, but other than that, everytime the kick means anything the guy misses it. He's always been good for us in September, October and the first half of November, but as soon as things start to matter later in the season, he misses. Not that today really "matters" per say, but hell, you can't tell me theres not someone out there that wouldnt miss these chip shots at the end of games. I'll take Novak back.

He's still 18 of 21 on the year. You're simply not going to find a guy off the street that can come in and top that.

Honestly though (and I just feel like you and I are probaboly just going to agree to disagree on this ), can this guy be any worse in the clutch? I mean really, I just feel like everytime there is a big kick (dosent need to be a game winner, but just a big kick in a game, specifically late in the season, that can really make a difference in the game), that he is just missing them. I just want someone who will make those kicks. He can be perfect all season long in meaningless kicks, but I just want someone in here who will make kicks when it matters... and if you look at my older posts, this isnt me just going nuts after a loss, I was saying the same thing when he was perfect. Everyone was really happy with Suisham and I said, "yes he's having a great year, but lets see what happens down the stretch because he ussually declines", and thats whats happening now... Its just my opinion though, and there might not be someone off the street that can replace him...but I think that needs to be a position that needs a serious look in the offseason.

But that's not the message it would send. That message would be "we'll hold you accountable, but only if you really don't cost us that much to release." Terrible message.

Throw your support around the guy, and then in the uncapped year, you can pay a premium to replace him in March, if he does nothing in the last four weeks to earn your trust.

Thank you Matty. Always the voice of reason. Don't cut him, give him a spit bucket and let him catch spit! It would probably make the rest of the team feel better and send the message If you can't earn your kicking paycheck we got a job you can't screw up! Hopefully. LOL!

re: Better kickers available?

Haushcha is available I think. But then again he blew like 2 games for the Ravens. They picked up Billy Cundiff and have been doing worlds better. So. There's gotta be someone available...

Oh I've got it... 2 words.. Nick.Novak.

I think Cundiff has had his share of misses too. In fact, he missed one against Indy and the ravens lost that game by 2.

Back on topic, I hate Suisham, and I honestly thought he was going to miss that kick because of the pressure. I would seriously cut his ass right now because of today and the cowboys game, if only to send a message to the rest of the team that if they don't do their job they are gone.

Fuck, I can't believe I'm posting anything today with how pissed off I am.

Really a player that can kick in front of 80,000 fans? How about this...try to score a TD when you are 1st and less then 10 to a TD?
