That's pretty cool. Gibbs plays everything football related pretty close to the vest, so it will be awesome to hear him break down the game live. And Theismann is an idiot.

Yes, he is. I need a Theismann filter for my TV.

He is the king of the overstatement, too. For example, Moss may have a decent for like 16 yards, and Joey Sunshine will be like, "that's one of the most impressive catches I've seen all year." LOL.

Why so many Theismann haters, he brought us our 1st SB along with Riggo. I'll forever will be grateful to him and to me he was the best modern day era QB the Redskins had. Sonny had the stats but never won a SB. Sammy Baugh was the best ever.

I wish i would have said this first but alas not. Very true he was the first mobile q-back we had in the modern era. and he would have been greater if he had not been broken in half by LTand other gmen on that sunday night game. I liked him when he was with NOTRE DAME and he SHUD HAVE WON THE HEISMAN, with all that said I really dislike him as an anouncer. well see whats in store for us with gibbs. I truely respect what he is and what he has done for this francise lord of the rings.

I love Joe too but I can understand why people don't like him. But to say Joe was the best modern day QB we've ever had is crazy. Sonny was one of the most gifted pure passers the game has ever seen. I can't even imagine what Sonny would do if he played in todays game. Joe was pretty much an average QB for most of his career.

What is the over/under in minutes into the first broadcast before Theismann mentions "when I played...."

"I'm really excited about coming back to NBC Sports," Gibbs said. "I'm also excited about working with Joe again but he'll probably argue with me the whole night. I'm going to make him promise to let me get in a word edgewise."

"I really appreciate the opportunity to broadcast the Wild Card game," Theismann said. "There's always a chance that Cinderella will find the slipper. I'm ecstatic to be working with my old coach. I owe so much to him. But I don't know if he's going to be able to handle three straight hours with me. I drove him crazy for six years."

Re: Theismann and Gibbs to Join NBC for Playoffs

This broadcast team will be HORRID.

NBC needs to clear this with the FDA before putting it on the air. This broadcast team may produce ear bleeding in laboratory animals and NBC may need to put such a warning on the screen before and during the game!

Then be sure to set your recorder for this game because it is likely to be as exhilirating a broadcast of Joe Gibbs reading the dictionary. You'll want to hear it over and over again...

Re: Theismann and Gibbs to Join NBC for Playoffs

Has Gibbs ever done this type of work. I just cannot see him doing a very good job of this and if he gets that laugh going it could get ugly. I think he says "They Fought Their Guts Out" or one of those he uses about every teams that loses in the playoffs
