Russell Okung visits the Redskins

Despite all the McNabb talk, there is still plenty of work to be done:

Redskins Insider - By the way, Russell Okung visited on Monday

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins

I was going to ask about this. I wonder if it's a good thing or a bad thing that he saw how crazy this town gets about football. LOL.

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins

Draft Okung or Williams, sign Levi, sign the Hotel (I know I said it would be a bad move the other day but I think he could play RT. I know he could play it better than Heyer.)

BPA with the rest of the picks and look for steals in FA. Then let the Mastermind do his thing.

Offseason solved! lol

I just don't see them getting Okung on the 4th with so many other needs elsewhere and few picks. There is going to be lots more activity and trades.

At this point, what other need is more pressing to this team than a LT? As SS said, with McNabb in the fold our QB situation stabilized, and no other need was as glaring as the Oline. If we don't take Okung(or Williams) I will be ready to join GTripp in calling someone an idiot!

How about a RT? LT? LB's? Our main needs are in the OL and LB positions, QB and RB are stable now.

Our biggest need now, is LT, and not a possibly good LT, a solid LT that will step in and keep our "aged injury prone"(LOL) qb from getting hit 100 times like JC did. RT is a need, but not necessarily through the draft, LJ could re-sign (doubtful), Heyer or another vet LT who gets cut after all these Rookie LT's are signed in the first round will be available to fill it. As for LB, whatever compensation we get for JC will go to that as well as one of our other picks. We have lots of needs, but LT far exceeds any other need right now.

LT is our BIGGEST NEED! Why wouldn't we cover that one first?

We still can if we trade down and still pick more picks to also get a RT and LB.

If no one wants to trade, would you be happy with Okung, Bulaga or Williams? Perhaps you'd go for a totally different player?

I would be happy with Okung. My point is we have too many holes to fill and I feel that another LT like the guy from USC or Campbell from Maryland are just slightly more raw but can become dominant over short period of time.

Agreed. Kinda makes the whole "WIN NOW" philosophy/notion kinda difficult if we gotta teach more than they can step in and stabilize a position. I dont think Washington is the place ANY pick should want to come to and take time to grow. Not that they can't, but I think, evaluating the FO's moves thus far, we are looking and leaning towards more immediate impact types. Not that we can't breed some young talent as well tho..........

That is why Okung and Berry are a perfect fit here.
