The Masters 2010

Things get underway today with the par 3 event. Obviously the big story line is Tiger Woods' return to golf, but I think he's going to have a tough go at it this weekend. You know what though? I'll still be pulling for him. I lost some respect for the man with his whole ordeal, but I'm such a huge fan of him when he's on the course.

What are you looking forward to this year? Who do you think will play well? Sleepers?

I love golf, and The Masters is one of my favorite sporting events year in and year out. I like Ernie Els, Camillo Villegas, and Steve Stricker to all play very well this week.

Discuss the tournament here.

Def Els...he's in good form right now. He's got to be the odds on favorite. Something tells me that Tiger won't go quietly though.

Re: The Masters 2010

Should be interesting, I'm more curious about how Tiger plays than the hoopla surrounding it all though. He's a great golfer, where he sinks his putts off of the course isn't of much concern to me, though I wouldn't exactly ask him to be the godfather to my unborn children.

Re: The Masters 2010

With TW and his interviews I just find it strang that people want to know every detail of what he did. What other then he cheated on his wife with a bunch of chicks and what they looked like even matters. Els has been looking good and my sleeper is Fred Couples. I will pull for Phil but I think whats going on with his wife and mother are in his head but with him who knows. My buddy and his two sons will be there Thursday and Friday and I can't wait to here about going.

Well I said I'd pull for Phil and my sleeper was Chouples so I'd say I hit this one pretty good. I was surprised at how they set the course up for a Sunday round but I like how guys could go for pins on the right holes.

Lee Westwood's game sets up well for Augusta, I can see him doing some damage. I'd echo the Els pick too because he's been red hot. Though he tends to disappear at majors, even when coming in hot like this, so who knows.

I'll definitely root for Tiger though, I'm looking forward to this tournament.

Re: The Masters 2010

I see we have alot of TW fans here is there any reason why you like Woods? Other then being a great golfer he really pretty much blows off the fans and walks right by them signing nothing. He does react to the fans when on the course but its just reacting to them cheering for him and him soaking it up like some over hyped rock star. I think he has been great for the game but other then that I'm not a fan of TW. I would also use to think he was a stand up guy but that kind of went out the window.

I do not like or dislike him from a personal standpoint because personally I do not know the guy. What I do know is that if it were not for him that I might not be playing golf at this point in my life. The way that the man has dominated the sport has made it interesting, fun, and relevant. Before Tiger I thought that Golf was a lame sport that old people played because it didn't require running. Not since Bobby Jones has there been such a young following of the sport. This appreciation of Tiger had absolutely nothing to do with his personal life, it had to do with his youthfullness and dominance of the sport.

Re: The Masters 2010

Great post, Angry. Totally agree.

Phil and Els both at -1 under, Cabrera at -2. It's still early. Currently 24 players under par.

Tiger tees it up at 1:42. I'll have my eye on that. I also really like Camillo Villegas/Rory Mcilroy/Kenny Perry grouping.

Looks like weather could be a problem later this afternoon. T-storms likely. It's really windy out there, too.

Never met the guy, just love his passion for the game. I don't really have a favorite golfer per se, I just like seeing the guys get out there. Woods, Mickelson, Els, Furyk, etc. Don't really care who wins.

Re: The Masters 2010

Furyk also just hit two in the water at 16 and is putting for a triple bogey. Phil is 5 under tied for the lead. If you go on to the masters sight you can watch Amen Corner today.
