Whatever Happened To Charlie Brown?
Older members will no doubt remember what an exciting first season he had for the Redskins and how he fulfilled that promise the following year with outstanding numbers but what happened after that?
I think he had one more poor year for the Redskins before going somewhere else and virtually disappearing. Information was very hard to come by over here way back then and I never did find out what happened. Can anybody explain?

Re: Whatever Happened To Charlie Brown?
Amazing start to his career for an 8th round pick.
1982 32 receptions, 690 yards, 21.6 yards per catch, 8 TDs and a Pro Bowl berth. (9 games) 1983 78 receptions, 1225 yards, 15.7 yards per catch, 8TDs and another Pro Bowl. He did have one decent season for Atlanta in 1986 but hardly fulfilled the promise of those first 2 seasons. Injuries?

After that he just wasn't the same. That injury (plus an alleged drug problem) led to his departure from the NFL just a few years later Believe he's a high school coach in Georgia now

Was the Arrington thread that made me think of this to be honest. Have since thought of quite a few other players that disappeared after a promising start to their careers but i'll spare you and the board.

Re: Whatever Happened To Charlie Brown?
Maybe instead of a thread for each, we could just have one "Whatever happened to..."
Think we had one like that before once, but it may have been about other Warpath members, not Redskins

Re: Whatever Happened To Charlie Brown?
Yes, Charlie is a High School Coach and is also married to a TV Reporter. He does come up this way from time to time. I know when they had Alumni day during training camp he was up. The Redskins also brought him up for the Dallas game.
He is a great, down to earth guy. When he was in town, I mentioned the local Boys and Girls Club and he was all over the idea of going to talk to the kids. His son is also playing college ball in the GA area, but I am not sure what position or which school. |

Re: Whatever Happened To Charlie Brown?
Believe he was also a summer coaching intern for the Redskins a few years back
