just a question

i just read were we are talking w/ pierce about a 4-5 year deal. Now does that mean that we will cut barrow and realize that we wasted money. also can we now cut Hall too

Absoulutely never wanted Barrow in the first place. I will take age any day especially when Pierce has come out of nowhere this year. I actually would not mind in cutting Hall either. Then maybe we could draft Mike Nugent out of The Ohio State. He is an awesome kicker with a great leg and very accurate throughout college.

Barrow will be 35 next year. if we can save money by cutting him, we should.

if Hall can heal and be like new, we should keep him. he's the best kicker we've had in years.

We'd take a decent cap hit if we released him. I would either say trade him, or (and I prefer this) keep him as a backup in case someone gets hurt. Barrow is the same kind of player Pierce is, he's got a lot of smarts and he knows how to read offenses.

Cut Hall? Any particular reason perhaps because he is injured? Like has been said he is the best kicker we have had in years and never underestimate the importance of a reliable kicker. Bring in competition in the offseason sure but he is not a sure fire cut neither is Barrow. Sure he was a bust this year but injuries happen he was Mr Iron man in NY and if he decides not to retire (and negociate an injury settlement) he would be a worth while backup at least.

Barrow is a very good MLB if he could be out there he would injuries are a part of the NFL, he would make a very good backup at LB next year, as for Hall unless there's someone better why get rid of him plenty of great player's have missed time due to injuries and come back to their old form.

I would put my money on Pierce. Call me old fashion but I like blue collar workers. He has stuck around the league and now it is his time to shine. So far his star is shinning brighter than anyone had expected. Give him the money and release Barrow if he won't accept a pay cut and take a backup role.

I have a feeling we'll have Arrington, Pierce, Washington, Barrows and Marshall all on the roster next season. Hall is injured, he's a solid kicker and we also probably have alot of money tied up in him. News that Jansen is healthy and could play if not on IR is GREAT NEWS to all Skins fans.

Hall shouldn't be cut....he had a great year last year and unfortunately got the injury bug that plauged this team all year. Hall will be back in form next season when the bandwagon starts a rollin'!!!!

Barrow will likely be back, we won't save anything by cutting him.

I hope Pierce doesn't go anywhere, and I am not sure if he is a free agent this year or not. If so, then I am not sure if the Redskins can match what offers he may receive, so I am assuming if that happens, then hopefully Barrow can actually play next year and play as solid as what Pierce has played this year.

Pierce is a FA this year. They're currently working up an offer for him. So, I think he'll be here for a while. As for Barrow, I don't know what to they can do with him. My guess is that he will stay and be a backup or they can cut him after June 1st.

Crazy Canuck, if you're out there: What would happen if we do cut Barrow after June 1st? How much dead money will we be paying?
