Marcus Washington & our LB's

Even though Washington is going to the Pro Bowl does it seem to anyone else that he's still under our radar the bit?

He's just been a fantastic pickup for us, one of the better FA pickups of the season around the league IMO.

I'm really looking forward to next year with this group of LB's. Look at this lineup,

starters: Arrington, Pierce, Washington

backups: Marshall, Clemons, Barrow

Pretty nice group!

he's under the radar because he is on a 6-10 team, if he was on a winning team going into the playoffs or if he talked more trash then he wouldn't be so under the radar.

Can you imagine being an offense trying to wear down that group? They can rotate and stay fresh forever. AND, with Gibbs ball control style, they won't be on the field that long anyway. Pressure will come from everywhere!!!!!!!

I agree that our LB corp is excellent, but I'm still concerned that we aren't able to generate any kind of pass-rush from just our front four in consistent basis. In my opinion, if we get a solid pass rushing DE (or two), our defense will dominate for years to come for sure.

The big thing with Williams D is unpredictability. Our sack leaders this season were a DT and a CB! Not a DE or LB (granted, Lavar didn't play most of the year). While I agree that a true pass-rushing DE would help, I don't think they should go after any big names or anyone expensive....draft or pick up someone young that Williams and Blache can mold into the perfect DE for this defense.

what do we do with clemons?

the guy comes in and gets sacks. with arrington, pierce and washington, how can we get him on the field? do we still sub him in at DE on passing downs?

I think Clemons could develop into a passing rushing specialist if he bulked up a little more.

I think it's funny how the announcers said that if the Redskins have a good year next year, we should expect to see alot more from our defense in the Pro Bowl. It's all about the record!

I thought Khary Campbell did a pretty decent job also when he was healthy, on special teams and in the few opportunities he got on the field.

yes he is underrated, because nobody knows who he is really. everyone knows lavar, but when top lbs are mentioned, washingtons name never comes up. simple as that.

I agree - I love our LBs. As unpopular as it may be, I think we may want to get a bonofied NT and run a 3-4

hrm, he doesn't seem big enough to me, but maybe. Problem is we have Griffin who's playing great at DT, so it would be nearly impossible to change. I don't think he'd be a good fit for NT but maybe if we change him to end, who knows!

I like seeing Clemons lined up at DE in obvious passing situations. He has excellent speed and can get around any OT in the league using his speed alone.
