Well I told you guys before that we definitely could use Chow as our offensive cooridinator. I know that we need stability around here but our offensive scheme last year was garbage. With Chow he would be a new face in the NFL. I can't imagine that the offense will get any worse than last season. It look like Tennessee Titans must be thinking like myself since they will be getting the offensive genius from USC. If we did get him, just think of the formations he would have our best offensive player (Clinton Portis). He probably would be in the slot, flanker and everywhere else because you have to put the ball into your playmaker. I just wished that we would have made a push for him.

We can't get everyone.

I'm confident the offensive will be improved next year. Gibbs just needed to get his feet wet.

We are going to need someone I don't know if Gibb's will be able to utilize Portis the way he should be, and that is to use him like the Ram's have used Faulk in the past, the same way the eagles use Westbrook hit them on the run out of the backfield with well designed screen's, and IMO those where alway's Gibb's weak point's as a coach we really were never a very good screen team, and when ever we hit our back's out of the backfield they are alway's stopped you never see us hitting them on the run where they already have momentum instead their usually stopped which mean's they have to restart which allows the defenders to close more quickly, that's how Portis HAS to be used to maximize all his talent's.

I can't believe that you think Norm Chow will come to the NFL and make an impact! Do you have any idea how different college is from pro ball. In some instances Chow was game planning against teenagers and 20 year olds more worried about finals! Gibbs will be just fine on his own, Ramsey will be better and Gibbs will adjust.

Remember the last time the skins got a college offensive genious?

We thought we were getting an offensive genius in Spurrier, but that really didn't work out.

The transition from College to the NFL isn't that easy. He isn't going to come in and dominate. So, I would hold my breath before I go out say he's a genius. That word gets thrown around so much now, that it makes me sick.

Chow doesn't have to worry about anything but offense though. On top of that, he helped college quarterbacks like Steve Young, Jim McMahon, Ty Detmer, Phillip Rivers, Carson Palmer and Matt Lienart. I think he will have some sort of impact, but not much with Tennessee. I don't like the talent they have on the offensive side of the ball.

I think Norm Chow will do a fine job and he'll be in the NFL for a while.

Steve Spurrier didn't worry about anything else but the offense either. There are very few college ball coaches that can make it in the NFL. Jimmy Johnson was one of the few, and what's his name that was after him inherited a Super Bowl team.....I don't believe he is in the NFL any longer.

I believe anybody who stays away from football for 12 years will be rusty....the real test will be seeing how much things improve this year --- as much of a hard worker as Gibbs appears to be, and how organized, I don't see a repeat of this year.

We had a college offensive genius that makes Chow look like a rookie. Not saying he couldn't work out, but as a coach you have to be put in the right situation. Bellicheck looked like an idiot in Cleveland.

Yeah, I wouldn't call Tenessee the "right or perfect" situation for him.

Salary cap issues, old QB, average running back, etc......

Well at least Chow is starting off as OC where he can ease in to things and he won't have the extra pressure that comes along with being the HC.

That's the point I was trying to make. Matty just made it much better than I. There won't be as much on Chow and his successes or his failures. There will be far less media scrutiny. The media axe will fall on Fisher and Fisher can put the blame on Chow behind closed doors if the offense sucks. I think Chow will be successful. There is a lot less pressure on an OC than a Head Coach.

Uh - Chris Brown is a BEAST down in TN. He was hurt most of the year and still ripped off 100 yard games. He's going to be a great back, Air McNair had a year (practically) to help heal his body up. They have decent receivers (provided they can retain them, which is a reach) and their defense... well.. there's always the draft. They play in a very tough division Colts, Jags, Titans, and Texans (who I think will be much improved!) I'm not saying they're finishing first, there's a good chance they could be bottom of the barell, but that's perhaps the best conference in football. Top flight offense in Colts, top flight defense in Jags.

Daseal, I don't think Chris Brown has the durability to be a good back for years to come. So, IMO I don't think he's beast. Talented, but not a beast. Who knows maybe he could have a breakout year under Chow?

Yeah a bit premature to put Brown in the infamous "Beast" category just yet, I agree that he needs to show he can hold up a bit better. No doubt he's got talent, but he missed 5 full games due to injury.
