Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
Patriots release wide receiver Chad Ochocinco - The Washington Post
He'd immediately be the 2nd biggest talent/threat after Moss (Tana gets the edge because he knows the system/playbook). Ochocinco was quiet and obedient under Belichick, why would it be any different under Shanahan? I vote si, amigos, a proven veteran WR es muy bien

Re: Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
I'd take Burress. Again instantly the second best talent/threat on the roster...

Re: Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
Maybe we should try to build for the future from our own squad of 28 recievers.....under contract?

No room for him plus he's washed up.

Re: Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
He's not who he used to be receiving wise. I wouldn't go so far to say he's a locker room cancer anymore, but still seems a bit too nutty for my likes.
I think we're pretty set at WR anyway. Bunch of young guys, plenty of room for growth and guys who have an upside.

Re: Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
Aren't the Redskins trying to get younger??? I'd rather develop Aldrick Robinson and Terrence Austin. Chad Johnson isn't washed up by any means, but I doubt seriously if he would fit in the Redskins plans. Johnson is an aging wide receiver.

Re: Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
He just had one bad season. Bellichick felt it was better to move on without him. Chad Johnson just didn't learn the system. It just wasn't suited for him. Don't be surprised if Johnson moves on to another team and plays like he did in Cincinatti.

If Ocho fits a system and has some rapport w/ the QB he'll reemerge as a big threat. ...and through all his past nonsense, isn't it clear the dude loves to ball? His narcissism is second to his passion for the game.

Re: Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
I wonder if you would have gotten a different response if you used French or German instead?
Part of me says no cause of his age and whatever reason he failed in NE, the other part tells me he was probably snubbed because he wasn't inconspicuous enough for the team. We all know the HC hates players who give interviews, Tweet, or whatever. I just wonder if CJ is allowed to be CJ if he will put up some numbers. I think I'd bring him in for a workout and if he didn't command too much money after his bad year then MS should or might think about it. Besides hey are still being extra carefully with Hankerson for fear he will reinsure the hip and if he does .......then we might start looking at him like another Kelly, a player who never stayed healthy. We definitely need a replacement. |

Re: Signing Ochocinco: Te gusta?
Besides we can have 90 players on the team right now so make a decision on who the Kicker will be or cut one of the long shots. See how CJ plays and if he's making progress I this system and at cut down time decide if he knows enough of the playbook and if he is having any connection with RG3 and if not cut him. That alone screws Dallas who might be looking at him to be their number 3 WR.
