Latest Sporting News Mock Draft
They've dropped Sean Taylor all the way to the Jets at no. 12 and have us taking Tommie Harris. I like Harris but would really be surprised if the Skins took him at 5

If we take any route other than Taylor or WInslow I'll be shocked.

Theres no way someone takes D'Angelo Hall over Sean Taylor.

anyone know why his stock would have dropped roughly 7 spots so quickly? is this mock draft on talent alone or both needs and talent? and I like 3D (D'angelo Hall) but I can't believe he suddenly went from around a late 1st to 2nd round pick all the way up to 7th. plus that scenario with Atlanta sounds scary to me. Imagine Vick having to highclass WR's in Price and Williams? atleast we only have to play them in the preseason and possibly the playoffs.
I think this mock draft is kinda jacked up cuz if we aren't taking winslow or Taylor we have to trade down and get more picks and hopefully udeze. by the way does anyone have any stats and info on udeze? |

plus Rivers as the prodige of Favre? thats a pretty awesome pairing and how much stronger could New England be with a monster in the making RB like Jones? I don't know how many agree but I think this is one of the strongest overall drafts, atleast the first 2-3 rounds, in recent memory.

I agree that this draft is really deep...I think they're saying Taylor's stock is dropping based on his recent poor workout (which I think someone brought up in another thread)

This draft could go in a lot of different ways ... it's all speculation until some of these players have their private workouts. I'd be happy with Wilfork or Udeze. I'd be stunned if Taylor fell to #12 but if his stock is really falling then Winslow might be the choice. I don't think the Skins will have a lot of success moving down because few teams will be willing to part with 2nd or 3rd round picks in a deep draft. GMs are getting stingier with those picks. The more I think about it, the more I like Wilfork, who reminds me a little of Dave Butz.

Kenchi Udeze is like 6'3", 280, runs a 4.75 40, a junior, and had 16 1/2 sacks this season. In the Rose bowl though, he had 3 sacks against Michigan. But he also can play the run, which is important for our defense. He is far and away the number 1 scout for DE's. Tommi Harris is 6'3" 288, and runs a 4.95. He's real quick and can tackle well, but he is criticized because he doesn't always hustle. And he doesn't have the size of a big d-lineman to plug two gaps. In fact,Kenechi is almost as big as he is, and much faster. I agree that Winslow is two much of an ego. He's got amazing hands, but he's so small (6-4 251) that he really just doesn't fit into Joe Gibbs system. Sean Taylor is another good option (6-3 220, runs a 4.4 40) but I think our more pressing needs are upfront, and a high impact dlineman would help us in the short term and (because Kenechi is young and coachable) in the long term as well. |

I don't buy Taylor dropping that far, no way. If he does drop past the top 5 he'll be an absolute steal.
I think our targets are still Taylor and Winslow at #5, both are instant impact players who have All-Pro written all over them. Harris would be a bit of a reach that high, but nothing would surprise me after the kind of offseason we've had so far. I thought the chance of Gibbs coming back was 0 to none, so I can't rule anything out anymore, LOL. |

Harris seems like he has the size and speed to play some at end too, has he played end in college or only tackle?
