Taylor signs with Vikings

http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/MIN/8294893

I know this doesn't fill the void left by Moss, but It leads me to believe that the Vikings are going to draft defense with the 7th overall pick. I'm hoping this is the case and that they'll use thier mid first round pick to add another reciever.
I'm hoping we can grab Williams. Any thoughts??

Taylor sucks he won't replace moss, so i can't say that they will go for defense in the draft. I hope that is the case. I want us to take Williams he's a redzone monster

Goodness! This thread title scared the #$)(**#$* out of me, all these key defense players leaving us. I thought this one was about Sean Taylor! Damn, nearly had a heart attack here

Ok, so this pretty much guarantees that we wont be trading Gardner to the Vikes, are there any other teams in the hunt for him. What are the odds of keeping him, will they just release him if they cant get a pick out of it and save cap room? I think we still have to worry about the vikes taking a WR, they arent built the way they want they want a deep threat so daunte wont slow down this year. I think if we get courtney brown we will be set on defense and then we can work on getting a top wr.

this could make the ravens a possible trade partner now, they could use a guy like gardner to replace taylor.

who else was interested in gardner?? Anybody?? The skins need at least something in return...or is it worth it salary cap wise to cut him and go after someone else in FA or the draft?? Any thoughts??

Espn Insider says the Browns and Seahawks are other possible suitors. I'm concerned it's taking this long.........prospects of getting a decent pick seem to be diminishing.

Vikes are going DJ in the draft. Without a doubt.

Re: Taylor signs with Vikings

I think that we will still be able to get a good pick, and I am really hoping for the Browns to get us a 3rd rounder. I am pretty sure that they sent their 4th to the Seahawks for Dilfer, so if they want Gardner it will have to be their 3rd. That pick (#67) is one where we could really land a good player, probably a solid 2nd rounder who slips a little. Perhaps even better would be to trade him to the Bucs for their 3rd rounder. They have the most picks in the draft, so they may be willing to do it, and its only slightly lower than the Browns pick. The key is that it might keep them from going after Big Mike in the first.

The Bucs have an even smaller cap than the skins, I don't see that materializing. Show me some facts at least from a legitimate source...

I wasn't saying that that would happen, nor was I claiming it was likely to happen, I was merely stating that I would be pleased if that did happen.

Re: Taylor signs with Vikings

taylor is a #3 receiver at best... it does not preclude the vikes from drafting a wideout early, but it sure reduces the chances of them going after burress or gardner
