Skins expected to sign Brown on Wed.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2005Mar15.html
Defensive end Courtney Brown will visit the Washington Redskins today, according to two sources familiar with the plans, and the club intends to sign him before he departs Redskins Park for other scheduled visits. |

Re: Skins expected to sign Brown on Wed.
I do like this news; hopefully its a good deal conract-wise. Knowing us though; its going to be a big conract. If that Moss rumor is true; I really have lost any and all faith in our front office.

Re: Skins expected to sign Brown on Wed.
how much "input" do you guys think LaVar had on this decision? Do you think they asked LA what he thought or that LaVar pushed for Brown to come here?

From what I percieve Lavar is pulling the string's, he's the driving force behind the Moss trade, and has officially offered to negotiate the term's and number's of brown's AND Moss's new deal's personally, all the while he's in the process of orchestrating our strategy for next month's draft. That Lavar he's something special! |

In case this hasn't already been posted, I got this over at Tandler's Redskins Blog: "Coles' main complaint about Gibbs was the coach's inflexible nature. "I didn't feel respected as a player," Coles said. "I know everything changed [when Gibbs succeeded Spurrier] but when you feel like you're one of the best players at your position, you'd think you could talk to a coach about the play-calling. We didn't have that situation. He called the plays. We ran them. That's where things fell off with me. I realize it's a dictatorship but there's only so much you can take." |

OK I guess I have to spell it out for you, WHO ON EARTH WOULD WANT LAVAR MANAGING THEIR CONTRACT NEGOTIATION'S???????????????????? He can't manage his own contract let alone someone else's, he also has a problem with being told where to play on the field ALA Marvin Lewis putting him at end which turn's out may be the best spot for him, and our scouting department need's his opinion on a player who has already established himself in the NFL? What's his injury have to do with this? Unless your talking about his concusion? Then I would have to agree with you and give him a pass. By the way what's great spped?????? And what's my opion????? Are those medical term's for sphincter, and colon? |

Who said anything about Lavar managing a contract negotiation? I simply said that managment always consults there prime time players before making a move. This is the reality of todays sports stars. I will refrain from insulting you as you constantly feel the need to show that insults are the best way in a disagreement. I just do not understand why you have a thing for a player who is loved by many.

Lavar has also written and performed all of the songs the Redskins cheerleaders will be performing to next year. He's a real renaissance man!

Re: Skins expected to sign Brown on Wed.
Matty:
When Lavar signed his big contract extension with the Skins - the one that is in arbitration and grievance channels at the moment - Lavar said in the Wash Post and on local sports radio that a CRITICAL element of his signing that deal was that he would have input with Danny Boy DIRECTLY about what players on the defense would be retained and what new players might be brought in. Let me repeat, LaVar Arrington said that. Now maybe he was bullsh*itting everyone and pumping sunshine up his ass, but if you think he's a straight shooter and a "true Redskin", then you have to put some credence in his own words, no? Frankly, I'm much more fond of the "players play and coaches coach and FO assembles the team model" than I am about players - no matter how individually talented they may be - being part of a participatory democracy on a football team.
