RGIII wins the Ed Block Courage Award

New season starting, let's hope last year's trash is over and done with.
Robert Griffin III won the Ed Block Courage Award for the Washington Redskins:
Quote:
Each year, the Ed Block Courage Awards honors those National Football League players who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. This award is unique in that the recipients are selected solely by a vote of their teammates. Every fall all thirty two teams conduct a vote which results in each team selecting their Ed Block Courage Award recipient for the year. Learn more
I think it says something that this was a vote of the teammates. For all the talk about whether he was a leader or other naysayer comments, I think he moves this club forward to new levels this year!

And he won't be wearing the knee brace. This could be a good sign.

All signs point to the return of turbo speed? I hope so.

Also, I am shocked to hear that multiple media outlets would write stories making it appear that RGIII was not being a good locker room guy, yet his teammates seemed to vote otherwise. SHOCKED I tell you. (Not shocked).

Well, there was a little back and forth between him and some teammates last year. Pierre Garcon and Santana Moss come to mind for calling him out on some things.

That being said, that doesn't mean he wasn't (isn't) a "good locker room guy", or that he wasn't (isn't) a good leader. From what I can tell he has the makings of being a very good leader, and his teammates obviously recognize that and understand that they need him to be a good leader too.

This is good to hear.
