injuries

I was totally disgusted at the end of the TNF but I found myself asking these questions. If we didn't have so many injuries to the team would we have be more competitive? I'm pretty sure we would have but does that give us any hope for the future? I guess being a fan I'm programmed to try to find positives to build on. Our defense didn't have much time to rest with the amount of turnovers we had. Are we that bad? Or are the injuries to the core skill players to much to overcome? We were extremely competitive against the Eagles I believe they were a lot better than the Giants. How much did the short week play in preparations to the game plan? What are your thoughts from this angle?

Re: injuries

Injuries certainly have something to do with this awful performance, but Polombus is a starter and so is Merriweather, and Reilly, etc.

Re: injuries

Truthfully, I believe the Giants Suck. We were just outplayed by a crappy team. It doesnt matter if we have guys hurt or not. The one stepping in need to step up and play some football. It was stupid mistakes that were being made last night. Fumbles, interceptions, and penalties. Penalties are killing this team worse than anything. Yes, the Zebras are having bad calls, but there are also some that are just rediculous. Its like there is nothing happening to these guys if they get one. I'm suprised when we played the Eagles, that we did as good as we did. Because last night I wanted to climb in a hole and say I dont even know who the Redskins are!

Re: injuries

As I said in another thread, we're not good enough to overcome the injuries we have. Once again, I'm not justifying such a horrible performance, but it's not like we have one or two guys out. I believe we had 17 players on the injury list coming to this game, we probably will have more for the next game.

Re: injuries

I like our depth but the injuries are just out of control right now and have us stretched way too thin. Gotta hope some guys can heal up over the next 10 days.

Re: injuries

Injuries happen. I liked our depth for developmental purposes but guys who should've been developed couldn't cut it - Gettis, Rambo and others I just don't want to look up right now. We have one guy from our 2013 draft that is on the active roster - Amerson.

Rome wasn't built in a day but, holy bejeebuss, it shouldn't take 20 years to by some goddamn bricks.

Re: injuries

All I can say is J. Reed you better get your ass on the field. No way Paul plays and, leaving our TE receiving threats as Paulson and T. Bosler.

BTW - that was a vicious hit on Paul. I don't think it was intentional - another bang bang play - but it was the kind that made you go "ohhhhh!!" Hope he is okay. I have been a N. Paul fan from the beginning.

Re: injuries

The "no legs" factor is also going unnoticed. We expended so much energy in that Eagles game between the pace, the physical nature, and the big brawl. I don't think we had any legs.

But yeah, injuries are killing us and boneheaded play too. Polumbus is just physically overmatched, and the secondary looks like it's being coached poorly, especially Meriweather looks like he needs to relearn the pop warner basics.

This confuses me. All I am left to think is that you didn't understand my point.

Coming off the short week and how tough the Eagles game was, I think we had no legs going into the Giants game.

Im not sure, but i think he was suggesting that they weren't conditioned properly during training camp for endurance, which compounds your point that they weren't fresh after the eagles game.

thank you will. That is exactly what i am referring to. The patriots worked late in the practice, while our guys goofed off. Big surprise we had no legs last night.

The giants had the same short week we did, ffs. Were they gassed?

Short games benefit the home team. Every home team has won so far... except for last night.

Yeah but we're a below average team with 17 players listed in the injury report. Once again, the team's sorry ass performance is inexcusable, but it is hard to ignore the injuries.

I would agree with this. That game was draining both physically and emotionally.
