Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
Not a lot to talk about right now, so let's look ahead to the Seahawks on Monday night at FedEx Field. Prime-time matchup against the best team in the league... what could possibly go wrong?
I'm stating the obvious, but if we fall behind early, this game is going to be the ultimate in ugly. Alfred and the running game need to get it going early to keep Cousins from trying to do too much. Otherwise we could see another 5 turnover day by Captain Turnover. If JReed finally shows up, he'll be a huge help to Cousins, but he said he was 50-50 yesterday. Hatcher at 100% should help our pass rush out a lot, but it won't be enough to keep Russell Wilson from having a career day if the corners don't step up. Oh, and Rak? If you're looking for a big pay-day, now would be a great time to add to your already impressive sack total. I don't think we'll totally crap the bed. In fact, I think we'll play fairly well, considering the opponent. Unfortunately that opponent is Seattle, and our best won't be good enough unless they give us some help. 30-20, Seahawks. |

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
It does stink they had a bye but I think the Skins will be more competitive than they were last week.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
Yeah, at this point, that debate would be pretty one-sided... especially if you factor in how much each guy cost. Although if Wilson played on as bad of a team as Griffin and Griffin stayed healthy, there could still be a good debate. Unfortunately for him, "if's" don't mean sh*t.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
It is a moot point now. Seattle's FO is obviously trying to build and maintain a winning product, while Snyder was/is just after creating excitement surrounding one player. Football is definitely one sport where one guy isn't going to make all the difference in the world. I like RG III, but the hype and the expectations were just too unreal, and our FO/Owner gave in to the grand delusion. Seriously, non of these overhyped QBs of the last decade have panned out and lived up to expectations(Leinart, Bradford, etc). All were system Qbs or just had the athleticism to excel in the college game, where offenses still enjoy somewhat of an advantage if the teams opposing each other are of equal caliber or one is indeed a lot better. One thing I will say though, Robert has learned to slide and protect himself better, but he obviously needs to grow more comfortable in the pocket, and that will take time. My worry is that in that time period, if they do put him in to save the season is that he gets takes another blow to the knee or ankle and then it is game over for good. That is why I say risk tanking the season and keep Cousins in when RG III is cleared and give Robert time to get comfortable within the new system. Face it, we aren't going to win the SB, nor are we playoff caliber, even if Kirk somehow rebounds from his dismal TNF performance.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
One is an injury prone QB with talent/potential, the other is a good QB that has an AMAZING defense and running game around him. So what's there to discuss? Wilson is not the only reason Seattle is winning, RG3 is not the only reason Washington is losing.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
Wilson is overrated. Least Mode is a joke. Sherman is an empty chatterbox. Earl Thomas is a pu$$y.
We're gonna rip those pretender Seachickens apart!

If form holds, the Seahawks should kick the living daylights out of us in our own stadium, as if playing at home has meant anything to the Redskins for at least ten years. I am very disappointed in the state of this team and this franchise. I have absolutely no confidence that we can become a winning franchise within the next few years. We may have a surprise win against a better opponent from time to time, but it certainly won't be in a nationally televised game in which we have established a tradition of sucking. Here is part of the burden the Redskins bring into this game: Pass defense - Sucks Pass Protection - Sucks Penalties - Sucks Turnovers - Sucks Special Teams - Sucks Other than blind faith, karma, or the rules of probability and chance, what would lead any of us to believe that we could beat the NFL Champions on Monday night?
