Carlos Rogers
i wished we would've taken mike williams. but carlos rogers isn't that bad. im sure he's gonna be our #2 cornerback on the depth chart. hopefully mike is still available at #25. after the way we and minnesota passed him up, i think other teams will look at that and decide if he is worth it. damnit. no. i can't believe detroit took mike williams. man that sucks. i think that is gonna make the skins trade out of the first round.

Re: Carlos Rogers
Carlos Rogers is good - very good. My favorite CB in the draft, but when a player like Williams falls into your lap...

Re: Carlos Rogers
Why? We filled our biggest need! We have plenty of WR's that will be able to get it done....we are a run first team, and the H-backs (Cooley) can fill the big posession guy role....

Re: Carlos Rogers
I don't like the pick for a lot of reasons. First of all, Gibbs said that they wanted to get some guys to help out Patrick Ramsey at his little rally at FedEx before going to the war room about 10 minutes before the draft. I think he was the 2nd best CB in the draft, probably the most consistent, but I didn't think we needed a CB. I thought Harris could have stepped up, give Wilds a shot. See what happens. I don't like the pick. I think we should have gone Merriman. We get no rush from our front 4 and I think he would have been the better choice. Finally, how, if you wanted to surround Ramsey with weapons, how do you pass on Mike Williams. It doesn't make sense.
They should take Matt Jones at 25 |

Re: Carlos Rogers
theres a reason mike williams fell so far. he's not as good as some people think. he's a bigger rod gardner.

Re: Carlos Rogers
I'll take Carlos Rogers. We did the right thing! I would have preferred a DE but there weren't any in my opinion that were good enough to be a 9th pick.

Re: Carlos Rogers
We have no need for a soon-to-be TE, he won't last as a WR for long.
CB was a good pick, our D will be killer. Also we have enough decent WR's on roster. |

Re: Carlos Rogers
Yeah, I'm agreeing on going CB as opposed to WR. We've had a ton of change at the WR position, and let's give Ramsey a chance to get things done with our current guys behind a totally healthy O-line.
And yes, I've heard the arguement that we don't have a "true" #1 receiver. Give our guys a chance to step up! I honestly think that given the right amount chances, several of our receivers could be big-time. |

Re: Carlos Rogers
Total offense last year: Rank-30th
Total Defense last year: Rank-2nd I guess it makes sense that we passed on Mike Williams. What the #%! are we doing!!!! |

Re: Carlos Rogers
Love the first Auburn pick! Need position.
Hate the second Auburn pick. Had much larger needs than QB. Roddy White at WR would have been a better pick. Or a DE would have been a bigger need than QB. Guess we can get out and play in the rain now....or wait to see if we can trade Gardner for a 6th round pick.... |

Re: Carlos Rogers
Pacman was the best CB and he was taken, Rolle the second best........Rogers 3rd.........with Smoot gone, I'm surprised we didn't go DE but could be Coach Williams felt they were'nt that good to be selected at #9, so I'm kinda happy with Rogers :shrug:I kept hearing more and more negatives about WR Williams.....
Here's what one Draft Preview book said about Rogers: VERY GOOD ATHLETIC ABILITY, Good closing speed and can make up for lost ground when he gets out of position . Pretty good route recognition. Best when the ball is in front of him in zone coverage. Physical in press coverage and will come up hard to support the run. physical tackler. will play hurt. NEGATIVES-inconsistent, confidence a question, not a great tackler. shows stiffness in hips and takes too many false steps on his plant and drive. doesnt get out of his breaks clearly. does not have great ball skills. needs to improve in man coverage. not a shutdown corner.......

Re: Carlos Rogers
oh well you can only say i wished we had done that, or question the moves. im sure the fo has some sort of gameplan that jason campbell fit into. they are probably looking towards the future. maybe campbell will be the backup this season, then if ramsey has a crappy season we trade him.
