What is the MOST important off-season change?
There are several threads dealing with possible changes that the Skins need to make once the offseason is officially under way. I know that some would want Snyder's leaving as the top change, but that isn't happening, so it's not a choice or part of any reasonable conversation.
My two major choices would be Haslett being let go, or hiring a fully competent GM. I am still of the mind that Haslett's departure is the most critical. I know a better GM and more effective scouting department would be helpful, but our defense hasn't thrived ever under Haslett. They have had a few standout games, but they have had just as many or more stand down games. And what seems to be very real is the type of maddening Redskins defense that can hold a team down at points that the offense struggles, only to give up points once the offense seems to find a rhythm. I also included the Fire the whole crew option, even I think it's as unrealistic as Snyder stepping down, but some may think that is what this dumpster fire squad needs. Add your own thoughts, or weigh in on why you think one is the most important. This poll's results are public. |

Re: What is the MOST important off-season change?
We absolutely need to find a GM. Someone truly in charge of football personnel. Someone who could be called "a football guy" who gets what the Redskins need and can really get it done with guys who have talent.
Tired of trying to fit round peg guys into a square hole.

Hire a competent GM, who by definition fires Haslett on day 1. (Be nice, give him till end of the season, two weeks notice too, etc., but search for replacement should quietly start immediately.)

Hire a GM, kind of like Green said. Plus Haslett has had a few good games which is more than I can say for Bruce.

I know it's late night and I'm sure many posters are out of town, with family, etc. But I'm surprised no one has voted firing Gruden.
Didn't he have a whole slew of vocal opposition here?

Re: What is the MOST important off-season change?
I voted for a qualified GM. I think we still need to infuse more talent.
Honestly, I'm not informed enough to know if our Scouting Dept. is part of the problem or not, but a good GM would seriously investigate that. |

We have been hit hard by injuries this year, like Arizona, but from top to bottom they have the depth to keep plugging along, while a lot of our middle rounders are inactive. Looking at you LeRibeus! Need serious changes in our talent evaluation and front office. |

South of Snyder wising up and selling or backing completely away I am increasingly convinced there isn't anything that can be done to truly turn the org around.

I can't see Snyder completely backing away... And being what? Just a figure head? Not likely.

Re: What is the MOST important off-season change?
I think, personally, the most important thing that needs to happen this off season is finding a girlfriend. It would instantly shore up my ability to have something else to so on Sundays.
