2015 Week 9 Offensive Line Starters

Post your predictions for the starting offensive line come week 9.

I'm really curious what the coaches think about Moses and Long. They have given the standard off season coach speak so far.

After this draft, Chester, McRib and Compton are sweating.

Scherff could beat out 3 of our current starters day 1. LG, RG, RT.

Wild and crazy times; hope springs eternal.

Re: 2015 Week 9 Offensive Line Starters

I think it'll go something like this:

LT = Trent Williams
LG = Lauvo with Long pushing for the starting position
C = Litch
RG = Moses
RT = Scherff

This is all off the top of my head and as we know, could look VERY different by the time week 9 comes around.

If Long and Moses end up as our starting Guards we will have drafted and developed 4/5 of our line. Sounds unrealistic, but how great would that be?

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they try Moses at LEFT guard. He seems more comfortable on the left side of the line, and with Silverback next to him he could really grow into the position.

I predict RG3 will have been sacked 30 times by week 9. Holding onto the ball and making bad decisions on the pocket lead to sacks regardless of who's playing across the O-line.

That's definitely a check minus for not following directions on your report card

Why wait till week 9? It will happen at the start of the season.

That seems about right to me, Chico. Actually, I think that might be the Week 1 starting OL, as well. I expect to find that Long has made great strides since last year.

One more thing: I couldn't be happier that we got Callahan as our OL coach and then drafted Scherff. Whatever these players have in them, Callahan will get out of them.

Re: 2015 Week 9 Offensive Line Starters

Just 48 hours into his NFL career, offensive tackle Brandon Scherff is getting a thorough indoctrination in what it means to be a Washington Redskin.

The 6-foot-5, 319-pound lineman, whom the Redskins chose with the fifth overall pick in the NFL draft, went to dinner Friday night with offensive line coach Bill Callahan, who spoke about the bruising, old-school style of football he wants to resurrect in Washington and Scherff’s role in it.

WOW....how I love to hear this....
Makes me a little misty eyed..

T-Will, Moses, Lichtenschleiger, Chester, Scherff.

I think the Lavauo experiment has run its course.

I don't care if Chester stays as a backup (I really wish they wouldn't keep him though... we have enough up and coming talent), but there is no way in all of the free world he should be starting for any NFL team ever. Ever. EVER again. Unless it was an absolute catastrophic emergency.

Ok, Chester blows but not sure if Long is quite ready yet and I think Scot cuts bait with Lavaou.

Re: 2015 Week 9 Offensive Line Starters

TW, Lauvao, Corey, Long, Sherff.

Kouandjio could be pushing Lauvao. He is a fourth round pick who fell because of injury concerns, he had the talent to go earlier. If his knees allow he might push early.

Last year, Lauvao never seemed to to push people back like his size would indicate he should. He did improve toward the end of the year though.

I keep reading articles and blogs (Keim's included) that unanimously don't think Moses should move to guard.

I don't know what isn't to like though. He is a truly massive man who didn't suck as bad as everyone thought he would when he was thrown in last year due to injury. He was a 3rd rounder who wasn't expected to contribute his rookie year at all.

Thoughts on 6'6" 330+ Moses pushing people at guard? I wouldn't think he would be worse than Lauvao.

Moses is built like a tackle. Not sure guard is where he should be.
