DHall thinks Bill Callahan could get the HC job next year
I figured he needed his own thread.
. @DeAngeloHall23 pod: "Coach Callahahan and Jay Gruden really didn't get along, to the point that Jay went in there and said, 'It's either me or Coach Callahan,' last year." "Don't be surprised, you heard it here first, if Bill Callahan actually retains this job, as the head coach. Don't be surprised." DHall seems to have good insight from inside, what are your thoughts?

Re: Bill Callahan
No thanks!! The only reason he’s with the Redskins is Bruce Allen since they go to the Raiders days. Would not surprise me if stupid Allen gives him the job. We need some young, hungry, creative, discipline blood.

Re: Bill Callahan
Wouldn't surprise me at all. If Allen is staying not much else is going to change and pretty much nobody significant is going to be interested in coming here. Same shit different day.

Re: Bill Callahan
If you look at the records of the head coaches Gibbs, Schottenheimer, and Shannahan under Snyder compared to without Snyder the difference in record is glaring. Until Snyder hires a real GM and lets him run the show, mediocrity for the Redskins will be the ceiling.

If we end up with Callahan to coach and Bruce is still overseeing football operations, that's same shit different day. Perfect term for it. I'm in favor of ANY METHOD of removing Bruce Allen from football operations. If that method is trade a 1st round pick for Mike Tomlin and give Mike Tomlin full autonomy, it may be a shitty deal, but it's still better than having Bruce involved.

Re: DHall thinks Bill Callahan could get the HC job next year
Callahan is an upgrade over Gruden, that's for sure....his football mind appears to be a lot sharper than Jay Gruden's too....whether the changes that he implements transform into success has to be seen....he wants to put heavy emphasis on being a physical running team....the only problem with that is the Redskins offensive line appear to be less stronger at the point of attack than the defensive fronts they have faced.....the running backs have been easily swallowed up by defenders and the offensive line have failed to create holes for the ball carriers....

Frankly, I'd love to see a new GM and Cowher (I doubt he'd ever bite, but I always loved him as a coach).

Re: Bill Callahan
I think Tomlin still has a couple years left on his contract and there's no way I see he him opting out for the Skins job. He's not that desperate.

Re: Bill Callahan
This. I don't understand all the talk with Tomlin?? I know Ed Werder reported it, but WTF do you throw his name out there? I mean if you're just compiling a wish list of any coach you would want...why not name Sean McVay??? Pederson? Reich?? Hell why not say you'll target Belichick...the best of them all??? It's ridiculous.

Re: Bill Callahan
Callahan hasn't been very good as a head coach either in the pros or in college. He made a Super Bowl on the heels of Jon Gruden with the Raiders, then went 4-12 the next year. He didn't do much at Nebraska either. Do not want as head coach. He was supposed to be a good O-line coach, what the hell has happened here with that?
