Redskins Sign WR Kevin Dyson

Redskins.com reports that we signed Kevin Dyson today. Why the hell did we sign him?n I really don't see him making the roster. Any thoughts?

Looks like Tennessee, Carolina, and San Diego didn't want him......wonder what Joe saw that made us sign him..........we will have to wait and see. But I think he won't make roster. Moss, Patten, Thrash, Jacobs, McCants will all beat him out.........

Maybe he'll compete for the FS spot that opened up with the Sean Taylor assault charge. Start printing those 'Free Sean Taylor' shirts! He'll probably want his numbers changed on his jail outfit too.

Dyson is a speedster with some size. Given Gibbs' apparent lack of faith in McCants, I predict that Dyson will take McCants' place as the #5 wideout.

Good point.

It's no secret that Gibbs is not a big fan of McCants, so unless McCants gets his act together in camp he very well could be cut, especially if Dyson comes in and impresses the staff.

I really dont see Dyson making the cut come August. Tafkas, the first thing I thought when I saw that we signed Dyson was, distraction! I hear you dog.

I for one do not think that the Dyson signing was a distraction. As some of you may recall, the Redskins were looking into signing Dyson in 2003, in 2004 and again several weeks back. Moreover, I doubt Gibbs would waste the time to deal with Dyson just to distract the fans and media from Taylor. A team doesn't sign a guy within 12 hours of a player being charged with a crime just for the press.
