Most Overrated NFL Player?

What's up guys, Just read over at CBSsportsline.com that Pete Prisco has listed the NFL'S most overrated and underrated players for each team in the league.

#1 overalll?....LaVar Arrington is listed as the most overated in the NFL

I disagree but is he at least the most overated on our team? Maybe...

If you are interested Prisco lists our most underrated player as Shawn Springs.

I'm going to go with Vick too. He is the most overrated player in history. People CONSISTENTLY give me shit when I say it, but he's just not that good of a QB. He finds ways to win, and before someone reminds me AGAIN, he IS exciting, but a QB he is not.

You made the argument for him (he finds ways to win) I hope our QB can find us a way to win and not the same old finding ways to loss. He gets the hype but know one says he is the best they just say he is a good QB and he is very exciting to watch.

Suprised (not really) that Brett Favre didn't make the list. The media loves to talk about his "love of the game" and that he plays with such joy. In reality (at least in more recent years) he's usually irresponsible with the ball and throws games away. No one with the authority of Holmgren and Co. to keep his ass in line.

I was thinking the same thing earlier. Favre in his prime, was one of the greats. Just like you said, now he doesn't care and no one can tell a future "HoFer" to stop throwing the ball to just anyone in triple coverage.

Really, People give you shit?
Really? most people i know would agree that he is up there as the most overrated players, the only thing that surprised me was that in the Probowl he owned. seriously it could be his WR corps, with a better group of WRs that team would go far.

Re: Most Overrated NFL Player?

It would be hard to argue that LaVar is not the most overrated Redskin. But in the league. I don't think so.

C. Griffin and S. springs are definately underrated.

Re: Most Overrated NFL Player?

I wouldn't wish him on the Redskins. His supporting cast is dominant. One of the best WRs and TEs in the game, as well as one of the top defenses. Vick will continue to run around until he gets hurt or, just like Hideo Nomo, people will figure him out. There's no "strategy" to running around, but there IS a strategy to stop it, and many people figured that out last year.

on the note of TE I'll agree with u cuz Crumpler is awesome, but Vick sure as heck doesn't have anything close to one of the best wrs in the league cuz price is the most overpaid 2nd Wr. I don't think he's anything close to the greatest QB, but he's only been in the league for 4 years, was only in college for 2-3 years, and until this past year, he never had a coach and system have him focus more on passing than making plays with his legs. One thing no one can deny, unless completely stubborn, is that if he can get his ability to throw more accurately close to the level of his arm strength in combination with his natural mobility, he would have be the best qb in the entire league.

Well I think those that say he is overrated would argue that he's not an accurate passer and as long as his "greatness" is based on potential and not actual results than he is overrated because he's not living up to the hype of being the total package, at least not yet

Re: Most Overrated NFL Player?

it's a toss up between vick and ray lewis, yes they are both good but the media would have you think that they are the best two football players to ever play in the nfl.

lavar, in my opinion should not be listed anywhere near the top of the list. he is a little overrated but if not for his injury last season , he would have been the defensive player of the year.

Ray Lewis can still get it done, but I agree he hasn't been the same since Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa left. I don't think he's the definitive greatest player on defense that many seem to label him.

I think Warren Sapp and Brian Urlacher would make my overrated list.
