Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
This is a good article from the Va Pilot which has been running alot of preseason articles. This one may be a little over the top in it talks about how Brunell is back to his old form. I would have to say he looked good last week but we need to see more before we can make that call. I myself would love to see a little of the old Brunell, we may need him this season.

Thats funny. Brunell has a good qtr of preseaon football and all of a sudden he's back! I hope so. Ramsey kinda made me nervous. We might just need Marky Mark this year. I really hope not. But we might.

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
His zip on the ball had nothing to do with the second string defense being out there. He had a noticably better throw.
Still, I agree that one quarter does not a starter make.

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
Maybe but Brunell looked a lot better than Ramsey did...I wanan see Ramsey start as well, but if Ramsey still looks uncomfortable and we start off like we did last year (minus Tamp Bay), then I say we put Brunell in.

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
If Brunell comes into any game this year, the over/under on him throwing a fluttering interception will be 4 pass attempts. If Ramsey goes down (and I'm sure he will for at least a series or two because all QBs get hurt during the season), I'd rather leapfrog to the rookie wearing Billy Kilmer's number.

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
It would just be nice to see Brunell have a positive preseason so we will have a strong back up QB if nothing else. It may get intresting if Brunell has a much better preseason than Ramsey what Gibbs might do. I hope that there is no question going into the season who our starter would be but it could happen. I would much rather have a conflict of who is playing the best than like last year who's not stinking it up the worse.

Your right about that! If PR looks bad or unsure and Brunell can do it...........its the NFL (not for long). I really like Patrick Ramsey. He deserves to play as long as he deserves to play. It's ALWAY'S a competition!

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
if Ramsey falters, so will our season and if that happens i hope Campbell goes in. he's our future, and no way can Brunell salvage a season.
Brunell was an experiment for a flash in the pan season when Gibbs came in. he had all the chances in the world last year, and it obviously didn't happen. he should be relegated to QB mentor/coach/3rd backup. we need to work on hope, no more short term experiments. |

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
Any word on the playing time and order of starts the QBs will have tonight? Will it be Ramsey - Brunell - Campbell again?
The other thing about Brunell is, his arm looked sharp and strong after several months of rest. Has he reached the age where his arm simply won't last as long through any stretch of continuous throwing? |

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
Brunell's 34 and has thrown a whole lifetime. he CAN'T have gotten any younger/better, there can be no more surprises left in him after last season.

Re: Brunell Has Strong Arm & Fleet Feet
Regardless, any improvement in Brunell's game play this year from last will make a world of difference. I'm hoping he can still be dependable enough for us to go to if Ramsey goes down.
