PS2 Madden On-line Problems
Anyone having disconnect problems when playing on-line? Me and 3 other people I know (we all use Comcast ISP) are constantly being disconnected during on-line play. Comcast states they don't see any problems on their end. I'm curious to see if this is an isolated incident, a problem on EA server side or what.

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
I haven't tried to play online yet...
On a side note, do you have to use the passing cones online? Just curious. |

Yes, you have to use vision cone when playing on-line. Well....you do with ranked matches at least. I'm not sure if there's an option to turn it off for non-ranked matches. Still getting disconnected, but seems it's less frequent.

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
I'm on XBox Live using Comcast high-speed internet in Richmond, and I usually don't have any problems with disconnects on my end. It's usually the folks I'm playing against that disconnect, either intentionally or because of a poor connection. Sometimes, the action gets a little choppy, but that's usually when my wife is using the computer online... and then I politely ask her to please stop using the computer while I'm playing Madden online.

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
Took me a while to spot this thread, but I have Comcast also and have had at least 15-20 losses caused by drops (though some of those games I would have lost, half of those happened with me in the lead). I had Cox for years and never had this many problems. I do notice when I am online on the computer, I will get the "network cable unplugged" message from MS a couple times a week, but it only lasts a couple seconds and I'm surfing again like normal. That's enough though to screw up my online game if this problem happens.

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
they might be resetting your bios to make sure uncappers are caught/re-capped... also, if you don't have a firewall it might be various viruses and scripts looking for exploits and such...

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
here in Indy - PS2 - SBC Yahoo
everything was fine until this past weekend 10/8 - 25 losses in 4 days because of disconnects whether I was winning or losing (though it seemed a little suspicious when I was winning) when it said "connection lost" I would play the computer - still a loss, even if I won - when I chose to quit and receive nothing - still a loss - unbelievable anything we can do about this? At one point I was literally 1-35 (yes that means I was 1-10) finally I created a new account - clean record - winning 17-3 - 3rd quarter, and there went the screen freezing and a loss through this whole thing I don't think some kids were "cheating" because there was no rhyme or reason to it and it wasn't just when I was winning - but it's incredibly frustrating - I hardly ever made it past halftime |

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
How does PS2 work for creating gametags since their online play is free? Can you just keep recreating screen names?

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
you have a master account. which is your name and pw. then you create your gamertag or id whatever. your allowed 4 names per master account. but you can keep re-creating master accounts if you want to.

Re: PS2 Madden On-line Problems
Hey guys, I have PS2 and XBOX, and I haven't tried online play yet for either of them. I have Cox High speed internet connection. Hopefully that's enough to run it. When I bought the XBOX, it came with a free, three-month trial that has already expired. It says there's a $49.95 fee after the 3 months.
But nowhere does it say whether that's $49.95 per month or for a year. What's the fee, and is PS2 about the same? Thanks |
