Right Linebackers, Wrong Positions?

Check this out from http://washtimes.com/sports/20040408-122357-7697r.htm

"Holdman, a five-year veteran who had 73 tackles last season, likely would play weakside linebacker with the Redskins, moving Marcus Washington to middle linebacker and return LaVar Arrington to the strongside position."

Aren't we wasting LaVar and Washington's talents by moving LaVar off the weakside and playing Marcus Washington in the middle?

This is speculation of a reporter.
However in prior Joe Gibbs teams, the linebackers were situation sub'd alot.
I think the same will be the case this year. To say this guy will start here is pointless because there will be alot of substitutions. I see Kevin Mitchell used at the MLB position on obvious run plays. On pass plays who knows what alignment and players will be on the field. I don't think the coach know yet either. After preseason the coaching staff will sort it all out and use what works best. It's too early to worry about who is starting where.

Either way Holdman would be a great pickup. I still see Lavar playing weakside either way becuase Wililiams wants to see him dominate over there.

I'm in favor of moving Levar around. Make the other team account for him before every play.

I think Williams knows what he's doing. If Edwards was still here i'd be a little worried. But WIlliams knows what he's doing, he'll find the right spot for all our LB's.

well if we get Holdman, then Mitchell can play middle some of the time so lavar can line up as an end.
