Roy Williams illegal or burnt toast?

Tonight Williams seemed to get away with EVERY marginal call from horse collar to roughing the QB and was burned twice for 2 HUGE HUGE plays!!! Karma is back.
Jesus loves Gibbs.
I prayed before the 4th. Don't usually pray but I'm gonna start...
Probably don't deserve this win, but I'll take it over Dallas and over Parcells. Congrats to Joe Gibbs the man I trust with the Redskins.

Toast is Newman. Roy Williams looked like Roy Jones after he was knocked out the second time around.

I completely agree. The horsecollar rule is a total farce if Williams himslef can still drag people down like that. Whatever. He got his in the end! After all the gushing praise from John and Al it was great to see him get completely smoked by Santana. All is right with the world.

I believe the horse collar rule is only enforced when the individual grabs the collar and then basically drops his weight to the back of the players legs and buckles him backwards pulling him down, I believe you can still grab a player by the collar, you may even pull him down, but you can't jack your body weight on him as you pull him backwards.

the horse collar is when you grab the collar FIRST... if you put a hand on the guys shoulder, you're allowed to horse collar afterwards, it just can't be the initial contact (from what i've heard).

Its the shoulder pads u can't grab, the jersey is clean. RW just yanked Brunell by the jersey, rough play but legal. He might want to back up a few steps though, I hear that Moss boy is fast.

The horsecollar tackles are one thing, but what about the fact that 90% of the time Roy lowers his fat head when he tackles. If Roy soon retires with brain damage I can't say I will feel sorry for him. There were multiple times when their whole team lowered their heads on tackles and they were only flagged once.

When Taylor puts a hit on someone he uses his shoulder pads and his ridiculous guns, if his head gets in the way it's only cause he is too blinded by rage...

everytime he tackled pretty much he was grabbin in that area, i saw him do it to portis and brunell

Madden also said that the QB can be horsecollared, which makes no sense (which he also stated).

I really thought the way he dragged Brunell and spun him around should have been roughing the QB.

No I'd say he just pulled him down and I'd rather see that than an all out hit on our QB. I don't think that horse collar rule will make it next year. Its just human to grab that area when you are chasing someone from behind and the way they design the jersey's now days its about the only thing to grab.

There's no consistency on calls, we always get the shitty end of the stick. I had people watching the Giants game saying "You're kidding, they ain't calling that?" on a couple of plays.

I swear that was a pick on Crayton at the end of the game but they said he didn't have possession. The tackle on Brunell wasn't a horse collar, but close.

We just have to take it out of the Zebra's hands is all.

My point is they've called roughing for a lot less.

Early in the Giants game last night Strahan was chasing Brooks and just gave him a light push from behind, not even a push more like a tap, Brooks went down and they called roughing. It was a pretty lame call.
