When Was Artrell Hawkins Cut???
LOL...i know this is a dumb question...but i thought i would challenge for the nickel spot. When was he cut? Did he have a bad training camp?

Last I heard he was placed on Injured Reserve

Yeah, he got a while ago.....not sure if was injury related or not....think it was though.

August 23rd
The Redskins placed cornerback Artrell Hawkins on the reserve/injured list, essentially releasing him in advance of an injury settlement. Vice President Vinny Cerrato said that the two sides have five days to work out a settlement. Hawkins hadn't practiced since the first week of training camp because of a hamstring injury. Before the injury, Hawkins -- who was expected to provide depth and contribute on special teams -- seemed to have an edge in the competition for fourth cornerback. |

September 7th
The Panthers also signed cornerback Garnell Wilds, a Virginia Tech product who spent most of last year on Washington's practice squad, but was called up for the final two games of the season. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound Wilds played well in his cameo appearance last year but was released by the Redskins in final cuts. |
