Wasn't Haslett going to unleash him to rush the passer this year?
According the Orakpo fan club, he was going to be a different player this year. I think the words were "you will see...I can't wait".
All kidding aside, I have been the biggest critic of Orakpo in the past for not keeping contain and gap responsibility when he wildly rushed the passer in the past. The ironic part is he has improved on that this year. Seriously, I have been impressed with him improving on that weakness he had, but he has not yet gotten the sacks yet. It is a long season - he still has time to get his sacks. .

Re: Our Secondary

Breeland will kill us with avoidable errors. Almost all rookie corners do. But the bright side of the Hall injury is that Breeland will enter next year with considerable experience for a young pup.

Brian Orakpo has torn ligament, will play with cast | ProFootballTalk

They did? They only had 2 QB hits the whole day and 0 sacks. ZERO. Actually, 3-4 seconds is a lifetime in terms of a QB holding the ball. If they are holding over 2.7 seconds, it's too long. (may be long even then)

Even if he was getting the ball out fast (which he wasn't), it's up to the coach to counter that. Sounds like Haslett got out-coached yet again. THAT, I can buy.

Re: Our Secondary

Foles was on his ass all day. No sacks but there was definitely a lot of pressure.

Re: Our Secondary

We have been playing good physical ball. We are unaccustomed to winning and will take some time as we are a work in progress. I like what I see out of Jay as well

I am a Gruden supporter, but he has to get the penalties cleaned up fast.

Re: Our Secondary

I personally like our young secondary, they'll be fine. They will have growing pains and success, a change needs to happen at some point. Amerson, Breeland, Minnifield, I wish Crawford was brought back.

Re: Our Secondary

Bruce Allen thought the defense had no gaping holes. You guys should all stop panicking and have some faith!

Oh wait, a mediocre corner went down and a mediocre safety was cut and replaced with a less mediocre safety. Eject! Eject!

We must have watched different games. He have have been pressured some but the 2 QB hits definitely contradicts your statement about being on his ass all day.

I don't know about the 3 to 4 seconds but totally agree otherwise.

Their play calling was a lot of quick passes and reads.

Our pass rush with 4 could always improve but they were definitely game planning for it.

Re: Our Secondary

Hated to see the D Hall injury, but it definitely opens opportunities for the young guns.

Also, Porter getting in should help out- he's always been solid.

I'm OK with getting a good long look at Trenton Robinson as well.

No better way for them to learn than to strap it on & get them out there.

Hail!
