Noble placed on Injured Reserve
http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=10419
well his season's over again. i think we should cut our losses, mainly because imo he's injured too often to make a big impact. we're thin at dt now.

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
After their experiences with Lavar and Barrow last year, their moving folks to IR right away. Makes sense here--wonder if he'll be back?

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
Didn't want to hear that. I was looking for more like "progressing ahead of schedule" "likely to be ready for the Seattle game". Note to G. Williams: time for another of your generic Reggie White's

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
They must see something in Jones to promote him straight away without looking at other FA's?

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
I BELIEVE that once a player goes on IR there is no benefit to the team in terms of cap space in cutting him. I defer to Crazy Canuck as the capology expert here on that issue; but if that is the case, there are no "losses to cut" by jettisoning Noble.
I said somewhere else that I was hoping he could come back and play because he's the kind of player you can't help rooting for. The football gods have not been kind to Noble since he came to Washington.

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
Bye-bye Noble.
The guy has a ton of heart, but his body is failing him. He's probably done. |

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
Noble was already looking like a cap casualty in 2006, so he could be gone soon.
Then again there's no real benefit in cutting him now so another option would be to keep him on IR in 2005, then if he can come back strong in 2006, restructure his contract and keep him. |

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
I don't see that happening.....how much stronger can he be after three consecutive knee surgeries? It would be easier and more cost effective to develop younger talent at this point anyway.

That sucks for Noble. Good guy, hard worker, just too bad he couldn't stay healthy.

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
Sounds like Noble is going to stick around as an assistant to Blache.

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
Didn't wendell bryant former no 1 pick of the cards get released. maybe in williams system and a second chance might reinvigorate his carrer, and then maybe not. noble should just retire, he's done everything possible to return and then this.rotten luck.did anyone hear bigmouth Zaban from the radio talkin about the skins tradeing lavar.

Re: Noble placed on Injured Reserve
looks like this is the end for noble, here's a recent journal by him at www.nflplayers.com
After my recent knee surgery last week I’m feeling better. Bone bruises are pretty tricky. It feels good for awhile, but when I put pressure on it, it begins to act up again. It’s a tough thing to come back from. I’ve had 4 surgeries in 3 years. I was well on my way to retirement already, and it’s probably where I will head after this season. I’d rather have a future with my family and spend time playing with my kids. The Redskins and I have talked about it, and they’ve offered to keep the door open if I want to come back. I could possibly start helping with the D-Line and see how I like that. It’ll be something that will keep me involved. When players go on injured reserve, sometimes they just disappear. They like keeping guys around and in the building. I’m still thinking about retiring, I’m really weighing the options. Coaching is something I’d like to do eventually. You get so much football while you’re playing, and it takes such a toll on your body that you need a break to get away sometimes. I’m going to have the whole year to sit around so I figured I might as well go work and help where I can. My future plans are to be able to spend time with my kids. I’d like to be an active father. I’ve been on crutches a lot. I have two kids with another on the way. When you’re in a situation like this, your priorities change a bit. At least mine have. he's earned my respect, hopefully he comes back as a coach or something like that, i really liked him.
