Who's your core?
Since the prevailing sentiments seem to be trending towards "blow it up" or some variant that leads to blowing it up I was wondering who everyone thinks are the players that are the core of this team? The players that in fantasy land three to four years down the line would be part of a rebuilt and (based on history, unrealistically) successful team.
I got: 71 26 11 91 86 46 52 And I could definitely be talked out of a few of those. My list is distinctly meh. We're in trouble. |

Re: Who's your core?
This seems like the same threat as who to keep. There's also overlap there with off season changes. I wonder whether one of the mods might take a shot at consolidation.

Re: Who's your core?
Meh. There are players you definitely keep, like Morris. And players you definitely let go, like Polumbus. IMO this thread is OK.
*waits for third thread about players "on the bubble". LOL. |

Re: Who's your core?
Williams, Kerrigan, and Robinson are the Big 3. After those, I would say Morris, DJax, Breeland, and Reed.

Re: Who's your core?
Looking at our roster objectively, Kerrigan, Williams, Breeland. That's it. Nobody else is a sure fire, walk on the field starter for a top 5 team in the league. Everyone else on our roster is basically a JAG or a JAG+.
Morris for example, LOVE the kid, wonderful guy, strong runner, perfect for the system we run. Is he special? No. He could probably plug and play for about 25 teams in the league but straight up would he beat out Eddie Lacy, DeMarco Murray, LeVeon Bell? No probably not. Robinson is probably just on the outside looking in and with another year's experience he could be in the conversation about being a core guy. Is he core on a roster that has won 7 games in 2 seasons? Yes. Is his upside so amazing that he's irreplaceable? Not really. That's it.. We're gonna be bad for a long time.

Re: Who's your core?
I'm a lot higher on DJax. Despite crappy QB play, he showed that he's a threat to score every time he touches the ball. His 20.9 yards per catch is insane, and 3 full yards more than the next closest figure. I'm glad that we have him and Philly doesn't, because the Skins haven't had a player who takes the top off a defense in forever, and he killed us when he was an Iggle. With better QB play, Jackson is an All-Pro this year.
